Plus #5 and #8. Absolute studs out there. Way to go Fenwick !!#7 and #6 for Fenwick best two players on the field tonight. Shout out to them. They didn't let the weather take them out of it.
Hilarious. All it’s missing is a jab at Antioch!ESL played up a class, they knew that they needed to avoid Cary Grove abs the triple option
it’s unfortunate that they made that choice, but in hindsight; I think that they could have done well in 5A
Speak of. When do the posts with the 30 mile radius circle come out.Hilarious. All it’s missing is a jab at Antioch!![]()

I’m surprised it’s day 3 and still not a peep. It’s one of my favorite things about this time of year.Speak of. When do the posts with the 30 mile radius circle come out.
I think I'm the only guy with a dog in that fight this week.Speak of. When do the posts with the 30 mile radius circle come out.
About 9:30 or so tonight?!?!Speak of. When do the posts with the 30 mile radius circle come out.
Honestly those started about an hour after Oswego beat Lockport. I've been "debating" with friends and neighbors ever since and I've been the one arguing FOR the private schools. It feels dirty, but it is what is.About 9:30 or so tonight?!?!
Sometimes those Oswego kids help privates win championships and then come back their senior year and try to help their town win one only to lose in the first round to another 8a private.Honestly those started about an hour after Oswego beat Lockport. Yeah I know that’s why I became a fan I ran inside and told my wife that I’d MAYBE be open to not sending them to Naz. We lived in Southbury across from Foxbendit's quite possible we lived in the same neighborhood (or on opposite sides of the HS). Oswego's fight song IS the ND victory march.
I'm trying to recall when they lost in the first round to a Private school.
Property taxes are no joke. I'm in SB near Traughber. I'd argue Oswego is a 1 team townYeah I know that’s why I became a fan I ran inside and told my wife that I’d MAYBE be open to not sending them to Naz. We lived in Southbury across from Foxbend
Oswego didn’t but Oswego East did to Loyola. Oswego is 1 town 2 team kinda town though they probably need a 3rd now….property taxes…oof!

That fishing thing was just a suggestionI miss the house it was ours we built it but I don’t miss the taxes. It’s crazy that I pay less now in Naperville than I did there. I also was mad they outlawed fishing in the ponds…there were some decent sized bass and bluegill in those ponds.
I agree screw OE one town one team!….but mine is for the obvious personal reason of the aforementioned senior transfer.
My son is turning 3 next month and would have gone to Oswego. That fishing thing was just a suggestion
Did you son play at OE or Oswego? I'm confused. SB feeds into Oswego.
Isn't Oswego to LGP about 35 miles. Depending on where Naz is situated in LGP and where in Oswego the kid lives, isn't it fair to assume that over half of Oswego is beyond the 30 mile radius to LGP? If so, and most Oswego residences are beyond the 30 mile radius, these kids would need to be legacies to be athletically eligible, correct? Or they live in the tiny corner of Oswego that may be 29.5-30 miles away?My son is turning 3 next month and would have gone to Oswego.
There was a Naz running back that won a state championship with Naz and then transferred his senior year back home to Oswego East.
I was bringing that up to show that yes publics lose kids to privates but it also goes the other way and publics also lose kids to other publics. Just giving you more talking points for the neighbors tonight.
Go Noah Schultz!! Sorry I'm a Sox Fan!I miss the house it was ours we built it but I don’t miss the taxes. It’s crazy that I pay less now in Naperville than I did there. I also was mad they outlawed fishing in the ponds…there were some decent sized bass and bluegill in those ponds.

I am a private school guy. Just always thought the Oswego/Plainfield/Yorkville to Naz connection was weird. So much so that that senior transfer back to a mid-tier OE program made sense to me.
We all take credit for Noah.Go Noah Schultz!! Sorry I'm a Sox Fan!
After thinking it through, I think I am going to answer my own question here in that it is 34.5 miles on the highway. I am sure that, as the crow flies, it is probably 27-29 miles then. Still unusual to bypass Aurora Christan, Marmion, Joliet Catholic, St. Francis, Benet, Montini, etc all as closer options, but I assume just very narrowly within the 30 miles as the crow flies, even it it is a 70 mile round trip on actual roads. Which would make the transfer home after a few years of that slog of a commute make a lot of sense.Ask Gdfther, he's the resident Naz geographical expert.
The kids that left Oswego summer of 2019 for Naz were close to a certain QB that just won the state title the previous year. After thinking it through, I think I am going to answer my own question here in that it is 34.5 miles on the highway. It's like waking up in Oswego and asking yourself, would I rather drive 55 minutes each day to LaGrange Park or New Lenox for my private school education? Those are my two best options because they are just barely under the 30 mile limit.
It’s 27.9 miles doorstep to doorstep from my old house to 1209.Isn't Oswego to LGP about 35 miles. When we lived in Oswego we only had our two girls and I assure you I woke up every morning thinking about the day I would get to see my girls as Roadrunners. And even now, Naperville has great schools and I still can’t wait to see all 3 of my kids become roadrunners. After thinking it through, I think I am going to answer my own question here in that it is 34.5 miles on the highway. I can assure you, the boys I'm referencing made a "football" decision. And that is OK.When we lived in Oswego we only had our two girls and I assure you I woke up every morning thinking about the day I would get to see my girls as Roadrunners. I think that is a GIANT piece of the argument that gets missed. Some of those boys on Naz and MC and everywhere else are there because that’s their family for lack of a better term. Naz has 380ish boys in the building and only 11 get to play. A school like MC where it’s all boys is an even bigger example that It’s way more than football that makes families sacrifice the hours on the road and at work so their children can go to the schools they send them to.
were those the ones we grabbed in the middle of the night ?The kids that left Oswego summer of 2019 for Naz were close to a certain QB that just won the state title the previous year.
Yes, lol.were those the ones we grabbed in the middle of the night ?
I think it’s residence to the school. Not sure the address but even the houses west of the elementary school are within 30 miles via Maple Ave.Is the 30 miles from the HS or from the residence? I know Lakewood Creek (montgomery) is further away than 2.1 miles.
I agree. The ones I know from the 25-30 mile part of the radius all made football decisions.I can assure you, the boys I'm referencing made a "football" decision. And that is OK.
I can agree there that when it comes to the 25-30 mile people I’m in the minority. I’m just trying to say that there are a lot of families out there that want to send their children to Carmel or Naz or Fenwick or Benet because that’s “home” or what they feel is best for their kid’s future or they are an obsessed dude in his 40s that never left his high school glory days and lives and dies on every play. Sports is such a small piece of the equation for the kids taking tests this Saturday.I agree. The ones I know from the 25-30 mile part of the radius all made football decisions.
And that is 100 percent totally ok. But tuccs, you are in the clear minority of those in the 25-30 mile away category if it is a holistic, family decision.
If you're making that sacrifice, it is usually for a targeted, specific program whether it's mathletes, football, cross country, or joining the Marist band. You're not passing up 5-7 perfectly fine "family communities" for a better fit. It is a better fit for most because they know the girls volleyball coach and want to be part of that specific program. And the school can become a nice family fit because of that. Just point out the tuccs case is the far and away exception. Ivory Kelly Martin would be far more the norm.
