Parkland @ West Forsyth: West Forsyth is playing lights out and along with being The CPC Champions; they have the inside track for a home bye in the 8A Playoffs. They will be a tough out. Remember, they led Grimsley and Richmond Sr. going into the 4the Quarter. They can hang with anyone and it just might be the best West Forsyth Team in more than a decade. This team is very deep and talented on both sides of the ball.............. ............................................................................................................................West Forsyth 54 Parkland 6.

Reagan @ East Forsyth: "BIGGEST GAME OF THE WEEK IN THE CPC" A lot is on the line in this game!...Outright 2nd place, a home game and a pretty good seed. East Forsyth is playing some real good football and I have to take them at Fred Lewis Stadium. Reagan is coming off a devastating loss to West Forsyth, who put a running clock on them with 10:37 left in the game. The offense and defense struggled and they have a beat up star RB in Johnathan Evans..............................................East Forsyth 31 Reagan 17.

NW Guilford @ RJR: This game is "HUGE" NW Guilford is projected as a playoff team in 8A despite their losing record. They will most likely be a seed in 8A around #23,#24 and draw powerful team. RJR is in the same boat in 7A and will be a seeded around #28-#32 in the Western Bracket: The loser may not get a Playoff spot.......................................................................................................................................NW Guilford 32 RJR 21.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Recapping West Forsyth @ Reagan this past Friday:
35-0... Just a Dominant performance by West Forsyth over Reagan…they played bully ball….Bigger, Stronger, Faster. The Titans are hitting on all cylinders at the right time. A running Clock with 10:37 to go....and 3 straight shutouts.
It was that lopsided…It wasn't like Reagan was turning the ball over; but they did have one INT late in the game...Reagan got their first 1st down late in the second quarter Reagan’s star RB Evans only had 37yds and Reagan finished the game with only 112 Total yds..... while West Forsyth RB Mozes Morris had 143yds and 3 TDs...West passing was clicking as well with two beautiful TD throws.

Note: West Forsyth's junior DB Joziah Nicholson is about to get some serious attention from Div. 1 Scouts... has 6 INT's 3 returned for TD's along with a punt return for a TD. Plays WR once in a blue moon(kinda like Panthers Jaycee Horn) and does damage every time picking up 3rd downs.. displaying his speed. Kid has amazing athletic skills...a tremendous vertical. The best West Forsyth DB I've seen since current Denver Bronco Jaquan McMillion.IMG_7195.jpeg

Reagan and East are playing for a potential 1st round bye. Reagan has probably locked up a 1st round bye for the 7A playoffs. East could get a 1st round bye (8 seed right now) or fall a little. Both are getting a home game. RJ Reynolds is 100% going to be one of the top 48 teams in 7A which means they are in the playoffs. They are projected as the 14 seed right now so they are playing for a home game for round 1. West Forsyth is on the edge of getting a top 4 seed in the 8A west and a potential 1st round bye. (Top 4 seeds in 8A get byes). NW Guilford is the first team out in 8A. They need a win to potentially get them in the playoffs.

West Forsyth is ranked #5 in the State in 8A.... according to Maxpreps and the NCHSAA uses the SOS/RPI from Maxpreps rankings to seed them.... 4 teams from the East and 4 from the West get byes in 8A(8 Total). West Forsyth should easily get a First Rd bye the way I see it. I will be surprised if the 3rd place team from the CPC in 7A gets a home game in 7A but who knows.... it will be really close.

NCHSAA uses RPI from their site NCHSAA Football. West Forsyth RPI in 8A is 7.

In 8A in the West (actual RPI in parenthesis):
1 Hough (1)
2 Pinecrest (4)
3 Jordan (5)
4 West Charlotte (6)
5 West Forsyth (7)
6 Mallard Creek (8)
7 Myers Park (9)
8 South Meck (13)
9 Providence (14)
10 Palisades (16)
11 Ardrey Kell (18)
12 Chambers (23)

Agree with you...with the RPI based on 40% winning percentage, 40% opponents winning percentage and 20% opponents opponents winning percentage this year West Forsyth is 7th overall but they are the 3rd highest rated team in the West only behind Hough and West Charlotte. Now, Mallard Creek and Myers Park are right behind West Forsyth and anything can change...
All 3 should win easily this week... basically, 3 teams fighting for the last 2 byes in the west. West Forsyth would be the only team of those 3 who won their conference; Hopefully, that counts for something. It use too mean something in the past but I don't know anymore.

Most projections have both Jordan & Pinecrest going to the West. If that's the case, and based on RPIs as of 10 minutes ago, Hough, Pinecrest, Jordan and West Charlotte will have the 4 first round byes with West Forsyth being the 5th seed. Obviously changes if one of Jordan or Pinecrest goes East. To the point about being a conference champion, that no longer matters as of this year. A team that finishes below you in conference but has a higher RPI will jump you in seeding

I think that's ridiculous, according to your source the top 9 teams are all in the West. What is your source and are you reading it correctly?

Another Question? Who is the #1 seed in the East according to your source? I'm guessing Apex Friendship

Here's the RPI rankings per the NCHSAA website: https://www.nchsaa.org/sports/football/

Hoggard will be 1 and Millbrook will be 2 regardless of anything else. HighschoolOT has projected Jordan to go West the last 4-5 weeks
HighSchoolOT (HSOT) lol...never been a big fan of them. They seem very bias toward the Eastern half of state but maybe they are right. We will see...Pinecrest is catching an L from Richmond this Friday which puts West Forsyth as the #4 seed and a bye.
I still think Jordan will be in the East. The teams seeded at the end #18, #19,#20, #21,#22,#23 & #24 seeds are the ones that should be shifted from East to West or from West to East. If they aren't doing it that way, then it's wrong. They are probably going by some imaginary Map dividing line.

Take the top 24 teams by RPI and then you sort them by Longitude. 12 with the Western Most Longitude go West and 12 with the Eastern Most Longitude go East.

Has nothing to do with where they are seeded until after the split. Same thing NCHSAA did before they made a certain amount of conferences West and a certain amount East.

The biggest problem is that most of 8A is Charlotte and Raleigh so some of those schools in the Raleigh/Durham area are going to have to come to the West because there are more 8A schools in the "East" than there are in the West.

Also, Pinecrest losing to Richmond probably isn't going to change Pinecrest's RPI enough for West Forsyth to jump them. West Forsyth has to play Parkland and that is going to lower West Forsyth's RPI some.

Looks like HSOT was getting questions about Jordan going east or west so they did an article earlier today. Their thoughts…it basically comes down to that NW Guilford and RJR game. If NW Guilford wins and jumps Corinth Holders (who will lose to Millbrook) for the 24th RPI spot, then Jordan will go east. If not, they’re projecting them to go west

I totally disagree with that, West Forsyth is significantly ahead of Pinecrest in the Opponents win/loss pct. that counts as 40% of the RPI ... if Pinecrest loses to Richmond, they will be tied with West on the other 40% Win/Loss stat, therefore both will be 80% on that stat..Pinecrest may end up ahead in the 20% but it will be very close.
The OOP win/loss record is so close and it only counts as 20% of the RPI. I don't see West Forsyth dropping that much by beating Parkland on SOS. It will drop, but not that much...Pinecrest has to win to stay ahead of West because the Opponents Win/Loss record stat is “8% pct points” ahead of Pinecrest. BOOM!

Win or lose for Reynolds they'll be in. If they win they'll have an home game. If they lose it'll be a road game. CPC has a chance to have 5 teams in this year which is really good for them.

When they build their new stadium, why didn't they build it to meet the requirements to host a playoff game.
Surrounding community fought it every step of the way. Built as large as land would allow. They have limited ticket sales in at least 3 games this year because of its size.

RJR was only able to put their capacity with the number of parking spaces available nearby.

Do away with the East-West Format
If you did away with the East-West Line for 8A the following would happen

17 Laney at 16 Palisades (218 miles, ~4 hr by bus)
24 Corinth Holders at 9 Myers Park (194 miles, ~3 1/2 hours by bus)
20 Enloe at 13 South Meck (184 miles, ~3 hr 15 min by bus)
21 Broughton at 12 Panther Creek (18.8 miles, ~30 min by bus)
19 Willow Spring at 14 Providence (159 miles, ~ 3 hr 15 min by bus)
22 Green Hope at 11 Rolesville (33.2 miles, ~45 min by bus)
23 Chambers at 10 Apex Friendship (142 miles, ~2 1/2 hours by bus)
18 Ardrey Kell at 15 Leesville Road (178 miles, ~3 hours by bus)

Byes:
1 Hough plays 16/17 winner (Palisades, 36.8 miles, ~1 hr by bus, Laney, 230 miles, ~4 1/2 hr by bus)

2 Hoggard plays 15/18 winner (LR, 141 miles, 2 1/2 hr by bus, AK, 199 miles, ~3 hr 45 min by bus)

3 Millbrook plays 14/19 winner (Prov, 183 miles, 3 hr 15 min by bus, WS, 33.5 miles, ~1 hr by bus)

4 Pinecrest plays 13/20 winner (SM, 105 miles, ~2 hr 15 min by bus, Enloe, 73.8 miles, ~1 1/2 hr by bus)

5 Jordan plays 12/21 winner (PC, 9.4 miles, ~25 min by bus, Broght, 21.7 miles, ~40 min by bus)

6 West Charlotte plays 11/22 winner (Roles, 177 miles, ~3hr by bus, GH, 156 miles, ~2 hr 45 min by bus)

7 West Forsyth plays 10/23 winner (AF, 101 miles, ~2 hr by bus, Chamb, 77.9 miles, ~1 1/2 hr by bus)

8 Mallard Creek plays 9/24 winner (MP, 19.1 miles, ~40 min by bus, CH, 180 miles, ~3hr by bus)

NW Guilford @ RJR has big implications on 8A & 7A PLAYOFFS..... A NW Guilford win on the road will most likely gets NW Guilford in the 8A Playoffs and send 8-1 Pinecrest back to the Eastern Bracket. RJR has supposedly clinched a 7A playoff spot but hopes to improve their seed with a win.

*** A NW Guilford win gives the CPC a great shot at getting 5 of their 6 teams in the 7A & 8A playoffs... that's about as good as it gets for the CPC. Congrats on all the teams that make the playoffs and good luck.

Looks like NW Guilford won, let the 8A chaos ensue. I think it’ll be Jordan that comes back east instead of Pinecrest but who knows at this point

West Forsyth will be the 5 seed and host 12 seed NW Guilford next week
Reagan will be the 5 seed in 7A and have a bye next week
East Forsyth will be the 10 seed in 7A and host 23 seed Purnell Swett
RJ Reynolds will be the 16 seed in 7A and host 17 seed West Cabarrus

Pretty good for the CPC that 5/6 teams get in and 4/6 teams have at least 1 home playoff game!

West Forsyth lost out on the bye to Mallard Creek…by 0.00392% …… I don’t know how I feel about a team that finished 3rd in their conference getting a bye over Conference Champion like West Forsyth.
I kinda wanted West Forsyth to play this Friday and it looks like it will be NW Guilford…they will be heavy favorites.
