I haven’t been able to make a game since they changed the policy. Hoping to do so Saturday. Anyone have experience with a child who doesn’t have an ID?

I’m confused. What’s the policy? Why doesn’t your kid have any form of ID?

Above not supposed to be an attack btw. Are we talking about very young children?

Policy says everyone needs a vaccination card or test an ID. My 8 year old doesn’t have an id. Can probably screenshot his online school id, just wondering how much they check.

I can’t imagine too many people are bringing kid passports or birth certificates with them? Wouldn’t have even occurred to me to bring anything other than the vax card.

Sounds like the kid in question is not vaxxed

I would assume a screenshot of the school of would be fine but obviously don’t know for sure.

I can only speak for Prudential Center.

My 6yo and 4yo have been to multiple events.

6yo we just showes vax card.
4yo didn't show anything because she's too young.

Nobody asked additonal questions or looked for ID.
I would imagine you'll be fine just bringing vax card for an 8yo.

I've brought my kids to multiple games with a pic of their vax cards. No issues whatsoever. They wanted to see my ID with the vax card but were very quick to allow the kids in with just a pic. I think they understand most kids don't have IDs.

Exactly. It's not nearly as complicated as people are making it out to be.
Nobody is asking a child for a drivers. license.

I will say, the Prudential Center site specifically says ID for anyone over 18.
Rutgers could have been more specific in their wording.

No I think he’s talking about the identification requirement to prove you are who your vax card says you are. It’s a fair question, as most kids don’t have picture IDs unless they have passports. I’d figure that parent ID has to suffice.

Wait a sec. Rutgers won’t let people , including children, into the arena to see their favorite team play basketball unless they got a certain shot?

A virtue mask is no longer sufficient for admittance?

It's been this way for months now.
Vax or negative test.

Cases are in rapid decline. And that's really great.

But...

"Despite progress, 14 states are struggling with intensive care unit (ICU) capacity of 15% or less, ABC News reports. Those states include Alabama, Arkansas, Georgia, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Mexico, North Carolina, Oklahoma, and Texas."

And...

"The United States reported 330,128 new COVID-19 cases yesterday, and 3,546 deaths, according to the Johns Hopkins COVID-19 tracker."

So, to keep things in perspective, more people died of COVID yesterday than died in the 9/11 attack. Not all in Iowa, of course. But deaths will slow soon enough too, given the slowdown in cases. There's always a lag between case trends and death trends.

Ultimately, COVID doesn't GAF what any politicians do or say. The governor's action is almost entirely symbolic. One would think that, with cases in rapid decline and a decline in deaths soon to follow, she would want to emphasize that information to her citizens, not hide it away by shuttering the websites that detail it. Closing down websites that provided Iowa's citizens with useful information runs counter to maintaining a well-informed citizenry. But I guess in Iowa, knowledge is not power.

and what is your point, there is no science to what is going on at the RAC...but it gives you and others "good feels" that you are doing your part.
The science is following the governor's lead as we are a state university and over 20% of our athletic department is indirectly paid for by NJ.

I think your anger is directed at the wrong entity. Rutgers athletics would be stupid for "going it alone"

Not sure if you were responding to me.

But what's the point of the Iowa governor's action if not merely to "feel good"? "Hey, a bunch of people died, but let's hide that fact and tell everyone it's over when it's not over." That way people can feel good.

I prefer when society is better informed, better educated, mostly factual and logical. By taking away sources of factual information about COVID, her action works against those good things.

What she's done is basically treating her constituents like mushrooms. Keep 'em in the dark and feed them ****.

To be fair, she's no different than all other politicians (of both parties). They all do that when it's politically convenient. I'm almost never a fan of such behavior by any politician.

Yup. If you don’t like it, don’t go. It is what it is. There’s a clear choice.

The messed up part about the kid policy was not offering a refund to people who purchased tix with the intent to take kids to a game - since a PCR result is the only allowed substitute (and it’s not really a viable option for most people). A PCR can a) take longer than the window they are allowing, and b) creates big time life restrictions if you “do the right thing” waiting for your result. Many day-cares have policies where you can’t send a kid to school with a household PCR result pending for any reason. Kids under 5 still can’t get the vaccine and getting a PCR when asymptomatic is a big imposition while awaiting results. They should have either allowed antigen (instant results) or offer refunds. The vaccine will be available to kids under 5 soon and now there has been ample time for parents to vaccinate kids 5-12 if they want to. Soon it will be water under the bridge.

I'm sure you've seen his posts before on these boards to understand what he is trying to do. This thread will likely get moved or locked due as with every COVID thread to the usual suspects who are pretty much just baiting people at this point.

The most absurd thing is that you can buy soda from the front concession stand only. Why only there.

And if you can buy soda, why can’t I get a coffee. Why can’t someone get a beer, Why can’t I buy my 8 y/o a ice cream and a pretzel.

I can’t stand when people just make **** up.

And things are going cashless😡
They want cashless and ticketless but the first game they tried to take my phone and ID to look at and I refused to let them touch it. I told the ticket taker and supervisor that everything has to be touchless and they looked at each other and the supervisor said "he's right". And let me go.

It's sad you believe those death counts are literally from the previous day and all died FROM covid.
