Speculation online that it may be a torn achilles. Nothing for sure has been said and it won't be confirmed for a day or two the extent of the injury. If it's the achilles, that's heartbreaking. That's a tough injury to come back from and he seemed to be hitting the beginning of his prime. Not to mention the Pelicans were starting to get it together and tonight beat the leagues 2nd best team, the Rockets. Brutal, but hoping for the best.

Cousins had a triple double despite the injury. He battled foul trouble throughout the game and the injury occurred very late in the game.

Liggins and Miller both had great nights tonight on the bright side. I just hope their night isn't overshadowed by a bad injury.

Damn man that sucks. Some people never get back to 100 percent. Ryan Howard was never the same and he played baseball which is alot less grueling than basketball.

Hope the best for him. He's a tough guy and hated seeing him limp off the court tonight. He's also been carrying my fantasy NBA teams this year.

Damn, hate this.

ESPN reporting NOLA believes this is a “very significant” injury.

Most can't come back from an Achilles. But Cousins game is all skill baby.... he can come back and still dominate.

It didn't look good when he had to be helped off the court. I hope he can come back from whatever it is.

I'm so bummed about this. I've had the same injury, and that's what it looks like. The MRI is just for confirmation of it, but they can easily figure it out with a quick test where they grip up your calf. If it the reflex moves the foot, you're good.

Lets hope it's not a complete tear. That's the best you wish for.

Prayers up for the big fella. What he has going for him is that his game is mostly skill and he was never the best athlete.

I don't know about that. He is a skill guy but he has other world mobility for a guy his size. He's very light on his feet. He's just not much of a leaper.

Sportscenter showing this is his 3rd achilles injury in 3 seasons albeit the other 2 were on the right. This is his left one now.

I know. He can regain his quickness. But the leg strength might never come back. And that's more for leaping. He should get back the flexibility and ability to move.

This has been one hell of a season for our Cats being injured. We have had future, present and past Cats injured.

Hoping for a speedy recovery Boogie!

Damnit man. DMC is my favorite cat and player in general ever. Makes me sick. I really hate it because he was going to be starting in the allstar game like he deserved, finally. Not to mention he was going to play in the playoffs for the first time in his career. Wouldn’t surprise me if NOL falls out of that 5 spot all the way out of the playoffs.

As previous poster said this is pretty easy to diagnose, without an MRI. Happened to me playing volleyball as an adult. I was laying on a stretcher at the emergency room. My doctor came over and told several interns to come over and watch who diagnose a ruptured achilles. Had my lie on my stomach, with my feet hanging over edge of gurney. Squeeze your calf, and if your heel doesn't flex, its a full tear.

Really sucks for Boogie. But he should be able to come back near 100%. Prayers up.

It was just confirmed, torn left Achilles. Damn that sucks for Boogie, especially in a contract year.

It really sucks. Some of us were talking about that game in the Miller and Liggins thread when it happened. Devastating injury for himself and Pelicans this year.

He didn’t limp off he was carried off.
Glad you felt the need to and had nothing else better to do than make an entire post dedicated to my small mistake of word choice. God fordbid. I was watching the game. So happy you were here to correct me on every minute detail. Should have gotten the gist of what I was saying Mr. Literal instead your only contribution to the thread was to point out someone's flaws.

That blows. The Pelicans were getting on a roll too. Hate it for him and his team.
The Pelicans were becoming the team that no good team in the west wanted to see. They were going to be a real upset threat. So bummed about this.
