I've said it all along and it was always serious...

It worries me that literally no other candidates seem willing to run against her, but she has 2 huge negatives. Age and gender. A possible Clinton/Bush election probably won't help her much either.

Make a bet and I'm down. We play the Mormons in DC in 2016. Winner can collect there.

OK, cool . . .

And the timing of the BYU game does it easy enough. I'm sure there will be some kind of alumni smashing prior to the game--whether it's NCAC, Billman, Irv, or whatever. Probably will run $70-80 range for admission if it's open bar. How about the loser pays the winner's admission to said event? And if it's a lame, cash bar situation, then the loser agrees to also buy the winner's drinks at said event (caveat: only the winner's drinks--not rounds of shots, not pitchers of sangria for the whole crew, etc.).

Alternatively, if the pre-game event is so lame that one of us decides not to go, then the loser just forks over $75 whenever.

Deal?

I say she's a shoo-in for the nomination. I don't necessarily think this is a good thing for her, the D party, or the country, but it's what I think will happen.

I think gender is a positive. I think she'll win the nomination and the Presidency. I can't say I'm overly excited about the prospect but she's a helluva lot better than most of the GOP yahoos....Huckabee, Rubio, Paul, Cruz. Are you kidding? The only sane on is Jeb. And he's too sane to win the GOP primary. And there is no current Dem with the charisma (and let's face facts, that's what it takes) to beat her. The next Democratic superstar is Julian Castro. After Hillary serves her one-term, he'll be the next Dem nominee in 2020.

Irv the guy that had Bettlejuice at that Maryland game years ago? Those were some smashups.

She turns 69 a week or 2 before the election...

An old woman is not going to win.

Also, 69...

I agree. The last echoes of Obama's second inaugural address hadn't even faded away before "I'm Ready for Hillary" stuff started popping up from my more liberal friends. I'm not wowed by any of the current GOP field, although Rubio interests me, but it bothers me that her nomination seems to be a foregone conclusion a full year before the first caucuses or primaries, with the Democrats having no Plan B.

She is void of chrisma.

Uncle Joe Bidenis head and shoulders above her. You may not like our WV Senator, but keep your powder dry. He appeals to the center. If a young gun steps up in Repub, Dems have got to run from Hillary. After two terms of Obama, they are not going to accept a one item woman.

Yup, that's him

He also put together the tanking in Baltimore when we played MD there in 2013.

I agree

she doesn't have much charisma compared to Joe, Bill, BO....but she is a female. She has a ton of experience. And is viewed as capable by all but the kook fringe (no offense), and she has better name recognition that anyone. In this popularity contest which is now what a Presidential election is, she wins despite her less than stellar charisma. And I agree on Joe manchin. I wouldn't be surprised if Joe switched parties soon. The red keeps on expanding below the mason Dixon.

I was at the Maryland game when Bettlejuice was there.

He was parked next to our bus and drank with us some. Had some interesting characters with him.

My far left friends will take her, but would rather have a

Sanders or a Warren.

I think Rubio has the best chance on the GOP side to take Hillary down, but he needs to tread carefully on the far right rhetoric. His announcement speech was heads and shoulders better than Hillary's mess.

Interesting notion....

part of a VP pick is delivering votes.especially in swing states. WV is insignificant and I'm not sure even Manchin could deliver WV. But a state like Texas-which demographically is evolving....Julian Castro may deliver Texas which would be huge. he'd also help with FL except for the diehard Miami anti-castro crowd (Fidel that is). Castro would help everywhere except the deep South. Joe, not so much.

Sanders is unelectable. Warren, while a very sharp person and female

is too unknown. The Dems have learned the hard way that nominating a marginally popular figure from the party doesn't necessarily translate to votes in the general. Mondale, Dukakis, Kerry...all sharp guys. All would've been good Presidents. But nobody was ever too excited about any of them. Gore, the bore, who actually received more votes than W ironically enough, was also someone who nobody was too excited about plus he ran a terrible campaign in a race that was equivalent to a best cook at McDonalds contest.

She did nothing in either of those 3 postings to warrant saying she has a "ton" of experience. She is a name first and a woman second. That's it. She has never "led" anything. Yet we want to put her in the driver seat of our country. Have we learned nothing over the last 14 years?

Re: My far left friends will take her, but would rather have a

My far,far left friend from Vermont who was a radio personality has interviewed Sanders and loves him. I think he has gone off the deep end. Anyone who thinks Warren is very sharp must be devoid of any degree of discernment. Ask her a serious question and she gets that "deer in the headlights" look. Hell, she almost lost to Scott Brown. Thats all you need to know about her.

Warren is too far left. I like some of the unequal justice topics she harps on, but she very far left on some other things. She could possibly win a nomination, but she could never win a general.

Future star for the dems is Booker. That guy will look to run maybe as early as 2020 imho. I don't know a lot about his politics, but he has a ton of charisma and has come across as smart and politically savvy when I've heard him speak.
