Conference 36 Playoffs

The two newspapers in the Staunton/Waynesboro area gave conflicting information about who plays who in the conference tournament, which starts tomorrow. But I think the correct line-up is that # 6 seed R E Lee travels to # 3 seed Buffalo Gap and # 5 seed Wilson travels to #4 seed Nelson County.

Then in the conference semi-finals on Tuesday, # 1 seed Riverheads will host the Wilson/Nelson winner and # 2 seed East Rockingham will host the Gap/Lee winner. Of course Tuesday is the first day that rain is mentioned prominently again in the forecast, so we will have to keep a watch on that. The Conference title game is then scheduled for Thursday at the home of the highest remaining seed.

2 other Shenandoah teams in conf. 35 host games Monday: Clarke at Page County; Luray at Stonewall and Madison at George Mason.
Strasburg is #1 and hosts both semifinals on Tuesday.

Those results might give us a little insight as to how 36 stacks up to 35, since I assume that match-up is the first round of the regionals, just like it was in basketball.
