Pretty evenly matched teams based on record and Simmons/Max Preps ratings. Hibriten has had to gut out the last 3 wins and I feel they will need to do the same this Friday to continue.

What Is Hibriten strength and weakness on both side of the ball.
We run triple option do it pretty well if we don't turn the ball over we don't throw it much. Pass defense is a little shaky and mobile QBs have gave us problems on defense.
Offense you should be able to move the ball on Concord . On the defense side concord does not throw the ball unless they have to. They only throw it maybe 3 to 5 times a game. To win you will need to stop the read option And their misdirection plays.

I think we threw it 3 times last night. We have threw it more at times but we're not going to throw it 20 times a game.
I really like Concord in this one unfortunately. West Rowan beat North Lincoln last night. Concord has to be tough beating West Rowan
West Rowan is down this year. Concord is not all that good. Their conference was terrible and they caught a break last night Tuscola wasn’t really good either.
We're down this year as well but it looks like it should be a good game. Turnovers, penalties and special teams will probably be key.
I could see this being a good tight game. I could be wrong. But wouldn’t surprise me to go either way.
i guess it is what it is and why they play the game, winners of 7 of the last 8 games, with a loss to 4A kannapolis, which they were not suppose to win.

6 Rb's with 40 rushing yrds or more each, top was 113yrds.

held Tuscola to 249 total yards
After watching the hibriten game from Oct 8th against Ashe County(1-8), alexander center(4-6), southlake christain(1-7), west caldwell(0-9) this game will be a mirror of 2 same O's. and D's going at it.
All i can say is 2 things,, it going to be very Cold next week and somebody's going to win.

Yep Concord and Hibriten essentially run the same offense with a few different wrinkles.
Game might be over by 9:00 with all the running plays that might happen…

ya i agree, it might be a fast game. I don't see either team getting more than 3 possessions a half, it want be the most exciting game to watch i'm just happy there playing and like you, playing someone different
Only time I think the 2 teams have met was 09. Hibriten was loaded that year.

If Hibriten can’t stop the concord run game it could be a long night for them. Concord does have a pretty good run game and they will chew up the clock. Someone told me and Jacks2start Can correct me if I’m wrong, In the West Rowan game Concord started a possession with five minutes to go in the third quarter and finished the drive with five minutes to go in the fourth quarter.
ya thats correct, its not a fun game to watch and i wish it was more of the old Beecher air raid days but i guess you have to work with what you have. I think both these teams will try to put a little more air into the wrinkle, i think it will be the bottled up plays at the line and the Qb's or Rb's breaking out we see happen. It's going to be some tired D's out there on both sides, hope we can make it respectable
Two times that I seen Hibriten that I can remember. Going back to 2009 I believe. Hibriten came to Mooresville. Hibriten won that one big. I think that was the year Mooresville went 0-11. Then in 2010 went and seen Hibriten at West Rowan. Talking about slugfest. West won but could of went the other way.
And the West Rowan game was VERY COLD!

lol there are A LOT of ways we (hibriten) could be in for a long night. ha we can do it to ourselves without anyones help. this is a young and banged-up group. to be honest, everything from here on out is building block for the future, in my opinion.
nothing about concord will surprise hibriten. when they turn on the film, they’re going to see much of themselves.
it’s going to be about execution friday night. we’re not going to “shutdown” concord — make a game plan to more or less contain them (limit big plays, make them have to sustain long drives …. and for the love of god, don’t give them extra drives with careless turnovers (our specialty this year)
hhs is gonna have the comfort/familiarity of playing at home — but i think concord is a much more veteran group, which is huge this time of year

had those guys dead to rights. completely locked down one of the states best offenses for 3 1/2 quarters … only to let two HUGE fluke plays by their stud qb beat us at the wire.
that was a fun group. gave undefeated 4A champ butler all they wanted ( L 35-28). hate it ended for them the way it did that night in the western regional final. coach young went over to the hhs locker room after the game and couldn’t stop praising them.
‘09 was arguably the best offense in school history — averaged 45 pts/game.

sadly, eliminated from the playoffs after yet another missed PAT debacle — our specialty … we’ve applied for the trademark rights and i think we’re gonna start hanging banners for those moments just to keep from crying

There's probably been about 7 Hibriten teams capable of winning a championship and we have 1. Just shows you how hard it is to accomplish and how special schools like Reidsville and Shelby are.
so so true. the longevity of sustained success at those two programs is remarkable.
we’ve found ourselves on the opposite sideline of programs like shelby (2), west rowan, and south point (2). in those games i found a true appreciation for their championship culture and how big of an advantage it was in those moments. we’ve blown numerous 4th Q leads in western finals … can’t help but think their pedigree and experience on that stage played a factor.
and nothing stings quite like losing an absolute knockdown drag out fight to shelby or west rowan or whoever … and then watching them cakewalk by 20+ in the state title game the next week
Looks like NFHS network is going to carry the game as well.
