Colonial Beach vs W&L

CB beat themselves. First game back after being off for over a week. They started great with the score about 15-2....then all five starters were pulled?? That let W&L chip back about 7 unanswered points. When the starters got put back in, it turned to a 1 on 1 street ball tournanment. Lack of passing to the open man. Poor shots. Too much dribbling. It was ugly. There was plenty of opportunity for easy buckets if they just passed the ball. This was their major failing point tonight. There were also plenty of missed calls that didn’t go their way. Some of which were blatantly obvious. Like a tech that should have been a double tech. And a foul on the 3 point line at the buzzer (that an official admitted to missing). Could have been a game changer in itself. But W&L shot well. CB just didn’t play the way they have been.
I don’t remember all 5 starters being pulled or it turning to 1 on 1. WL got hot CB missed a lot of layups. Both teams played hard WL came out on top. Hats off to the eagles
The starters were definitely pulled when they had the big lead early in the game. And that’s when W&L made the first run. And I concur that W&L shot well. But CB shouldn't have taken the pressure off that early in the game when the starters were in a rhythm and hot. I’m a fan of not disrupting the rhythm until necessary. They should have applied pressure even more. And CB definitely missed a ton of layups...and many of those were because one man was trying to split the defense constantly instead of passing to the open man. And with 33 seconds left they didn’t even play perimeter defense and allowed an open 3. So they deserved to lose playing that way and that’s what happened. Maybe they’ll learn before the next game. So as I said, they beat themselves. Definitely was not the intensity they’ve been playing with.
No one is saying W&L didn’t play well - they did. I’m saying the beach didn’t. The best thing to watch is two teams playing at their best, and the officiating calling a consistent game. Unfortunately, that hasn’t been the norm this season.
