I think it would benefit TU to finish 5th. No first round bye, but a W over the no. 12 (USF) easy first round win, then play no. 4.

However, I'm beginning to think that SMU and UCF (with injuries), Temple (inconsistent) and U Conn (fading) make TU a logical no. 4 or 5, but not 6th. Of course, that means Cinncy in the 2nd round, but a W over the no. 5 might be enough to make the NIT. TU has the tie breaker over SMU and I believe TU plays UCF here as well in only one meeting.

I believe we can go 19-11 in to tourney play as a number 4 seed with first round bye. The only loss coming to Cincinnati. The east of the schedule is beat able.

Wouldn't our RPI drop even with a W over USF, because their RPI is ~175 below ours? Or for NIT do you think total Ws and conference rank is more important than RPI?

In years passed, based on RPI (and not a regular season champ), 60s you are in to the NIT, 70s almost certain, 80s is about 50/50, then at 90 or 100 it is usually only big conference teams, big names, or teams that "almost made it" in the conference tournament or got buzz as being on a hot streak/bubble in spite of their low RPI. If we make it to the conference championship game, we are in to the NIT. Otherwise, I think we need to keep the RPI up.

Its nice that our conference affiliation is a plus. The NIT would be very helpful to this team. As inconsistent as they are, they could win the whole dang thing.

I think you have forgotten the teams propensity to disappoint every couple of five games. They are going to have a game or two out of those 7 that we'll lose. We will finish up 5-2 or 4-3. I can't see us winning all but Cincinnati. We're lucky that our shooting percentage came down against USF. I hope I'm wrong, but I doubt it.

We’re lucky our shooting % came down against USF? That doesn’t make sense. So then we would have won by 20 instead of by 10 or whatever?

If it had come down against anybody else we would have lost.

Man you can be obnoxious. Everybody on here deals in speculation. Just because I disagree with you, you get snappy… I am not overly negative like original or grad06, so I don`t exactly see where you are coming from. Through with this conversation.

Taking about how many wins may get us into a tournament v speculation about a game we already won is different, but maybe that’s just me.

You just said you didn't deal in speculation right after you speculated.

I had to put on my spectacles to read most of this, it was just spectacular! No speculating here, it's a very special thread.

He's still angry about Brady.
Why would anyone be angry about Brady? Dude threw for over 500 yards. Wanna be angry...be angry at Belichick for benching Butler who would have done a much better job and at least contested more of the passes to Agholor.
