After checking out the dates of this tournament ( March 31 -April 6)

Seems like they going to play the semifinals at 12:30 and 3:00 central and will lead them into the Final Four games on Saturday..

My question is which tournament gets to pick teams first the 32 NIT or 16 Crown?

I would guess the NIT, but I don't know.

Is the Crown tournament financially worth it for teams to participate in?

Good question. Two winners would have to stay in Vegas for 8 straight days and who is actually going to attend these games besides the few who will follow their teams out there.

So it appears the power 4 will get 16 teams in this before the NIT.

How sad that historically the NIT tournament gets shafted.

Yes I understand that the first 2 teams not in the NCAA from each Power 4 automatically goes to the Crown. NIT is now 3rd tier. It’s sad because they one really fun thing about NIT was the chance to host more games!

I think it’s 2 teams from the Big East . Big Ten and big 12 . Don’t see any automatics from ACC or SEC . Maybe o read it wrong.

Looks like at least 12 teams from the SEC will get in the NCAA.

Others out Vanderbilt, OU and texass will be looking at the Crown.

Nebraska, Northwestern and the herky’s could be the B1G teams.

Big 12 Baylor and Cincinnati most likely would be in.

I thought I read Iowa was passing on any post season because of the coaching search.

When do they announce who’ll be kicking our *** in this prestigious event?

Any team that finishes 16th in an 18 team conference should stay home and work on next year.

Yup, we should be looking for a new coach right now instead of playing in some meaningless tiddly wink tournament.

Am I invited to your Crown Selection watch party? Sounds like a hoot. Laughing

I haven’t got any RSVPs yet, but we’re expecting quite the turnout. Fully catered and I hired the NU pep band for entertainment…

I was fully prepared to spend a few grand to go see NU wherever they ended up in the NCAAs. Not gonna spend a fvcking dime on the “crown invitational”.

I thought I read Northwestern was declining any post season invitations.

I wouldn’t expect too many people would even be interested after the way they finished the season..

Probably so. I just remember 3-4 weeks ago, right after the 4 win streak, I said to myself I’m going to see them in the NCAAs. Now, if they would’ve back doored the tournament and squeaked into a play in game I probably would’ve changed my mind about taking the trip. Unless it was somewhere close that I could easily drive.

Do you have to be drunk on Crown for it to be watchable ? Or do the players have to take a shot of Crown for each missed shot? Would be pretty cool I guess

When will the Crown Invitational be announced? I have to get my popcorn ready.
It will be interesting because Ohio state and Indiana didn’t get into the dance. You would think they Would be the 2 automatic Bog Ten picks .

It sounds like Indiana is declining any post season appearances. Focusing on getting a new coach.

Arizona State is 13-19 and 4-16 in the Big 12.

If Hoiberg losses this game pay the man his money and send him on his way.

I’d have rather played in the NIT and get a home game and in a more prestigious tournament..

NIT is not a more prestigious tournament anymore. It is almost all mid-major teams now. Only 4 of the 32 teams in the NIT this year are from major conferences.

I was in attendance one of the last times (or maybe it was the last time) we played ASU in 2007

In the Devaney Center, some fresh faced guy named James Harden playing for the Sun Devils, Huskers won handily

And they've lost 11 of their last 12 games.

I would think that many of these teams will have several players that enter the transfer portal between now and the beginning of the tournament. I wonder if some will even be able to field a team by then.
