Coldest game I have ever attended was Areowhead in 2000 vs the Broncos. It was miserable, so cold beer froze instantly.

I remember a sCUm game in Lincoln in freezing rain in the late 90s that was pretty damn cold. Soaked and chilled to the bone.

Iowa 2012... not all that bad for pure low temp but super windy with unreal windchill...

what’s the coldest game you remember attending? Mine was in November 2008 Huskers vs Kansas. Freezing cold with windy conditions! Suh caught a TD and I believe Nebraska’s win made them bowl eligible. Fun times!

I was there. We were out of the wind and it wasn't too bad. I remember that the student section was less than half-full in the 3rd quarter.

The coldest NU game for me was the 1991 game vs. OU. 33 degrees and off and on torrential rain. Calvin Jones ran wild in the 2nd half.

Colorado-NU in Boulder in 1991. 12 degrees at game time, and minus 8 with wind chill. To top it off, the game ended in a tie.

Also, OU 1987.. not even sure how cold it was but the game tore out my soul and froze it, then burned it then scattered the ashes..

Thank goodness there was no internet back then, Steve Taylor would have been crucified as would have the O-Line and Dr. Tom...

With snowballs!
Yeah that was also bs never should have ended in a tie, I believe Colorado blocked a extra point and ran it back for 2 points but there were several blocks in the back on that return. Then Colorado should have been penalized unsportsmanlike conduct for the snowball being thrown on the field which would have moved the try 15 yards closer

NU Michigan St November 3rd 2012. It wasn't even that cold or windy. 32 degrees at KO, 15 MPH wind. Me and the missus were in the upper deck and were just freezing. We both had on long johns, three layers on top and a blanket and were still shivering all second half. I have been to plenty of NU games when it was much colder and sleeting, etc., but for some reason the MI St game was brutal. Last year's Michigan St was pretty unpleasant as well.

And that Switzer bastard called a timeout with about 30 seconds left for no reason other than he's, well, a bastard.

1993 Oklahoma was pretty GD cold
I can still remember Christian Peter's arms being blue. He and I think another one of our D linemen went with the bare arm supper short sleeve jerseys. I had multiple layers of coveralls, insulated boots, wool socks, mittens, parkas, stocking cap and hoods and I still froze my butt in west stadium. I'm outside most days in terrible weather but standing on that ice and snow was miserable.

I can't tell you the date but early to mid-80's vs K-State I think. My first Husker game, parents must've gotten cheap tickets because we had no money. It snowed like a bastard and it was a blowout. I just remember the guy with the polka dot hat driving the tractor to push snow off the field.

edit: figured out it was '86

1967 Army at Air Force. It was super cold and windy but a bright sunny day. What made it so cold was we were driving up to my mother’s parents house in Denver after the game so my mother made us all dress for the dinner and not the game. We froze. The 1968 K-State game was cold. Snow. All those CU games in the 90s in Lincoln seemed cold to me. Light rain and low thirty degree temps. Never pleasant. Last years Michigan State game was pretty cold. I sat in the upgraded seats in the row right behind first class on the flight back there. I hit the guy right in front of me who was in first class in the back of the head with my Uggs when I was boarding. He never did warm up to me, but I am glad I had warm boots for the game.

Honorable Mention. A Husky game I think against Arizona in the early 2000s. Seattle typically just drizzles. Sure it does it a lot, but it rarely rains hard. During this game it was just pouring. Rainwater ran down my face, that was the only part of my body that wasn’t protected by gore-tex, and went all the way to my socks. I was so soaked after the game I stopped at an outlet mall and bought all new clothes for the drive back home over the Cascades.

Water bottles were frozen solid SOLID at halftime at the Prague, NE football field when BruningDavenport went there for a playoff game in about 1998. It was negative teens with a decent breeze. The buses were left running the whole game for fear that they wouldn't start at the end of the game. My fingers hurt just thinking about it!

Miserable winter weather in mid-October. The snowbirds may be heading my way earlier this year.

1988 CU NU was worse cold 30 to 40s and Stadium was full of snow all seats and ground around feet were full of snow and Ice sitting in snow feet in snow rows all had deep snow.constant wind . no one left classic ground and pound war victory wAs sweet 7-0 Huskers Stayed throughout. Yet this still is second to the 1962 Gotham Bowl 14 degrees not including gusting winds of 65 mph throughout. Only 5000 to 6000 had the guts too watch one of the best bowl win ever against the Cain’s. Look it up light weights.Frosts game against MSU was child’s play.

This is the other one that always sticks out to me. Air temp was nowhere near as bad as 93 OU or the B12 title game, but the rain made it nearly as miserable. At least we won, and between screaming my throat bloody and onset of pneumonia, couldn’t talk for days...
