Everything he's touched has turned to ****. His only good hire was Lemonis and even that was a botch. The idea that a baseball coach was qualified to be the AD of a modern SEC athletic department was laughable at the time and the results have been predictably bad. Forget his politics, although they suck too, and look at his performance. It's truly disastrous.
There's a reason no serious Power 5 school has ever even considered hiring Leach for their job. But suddenly Cohen thinks he's going to outsmart all these other ADs and Leach will succeed? The man is an ideologue on the level of Croom. Leach wants to win with the pure Air Raid in the same way Croom wanted to run the West Coast Offense. It's not about the results or consequences, it's about doing it their way.
And here's the scary part: We're stuck with Leach for 3-4 years. Unlike most of our SEC brethren, we can't buy ourselves out of two consecutive bad coaching hires, especially in the aftermath of the Wuhan Virus. Now we're stuck with another coach who isn't going to improve the situation for multiple years in the sport that's supposed to generate the bulk of the revenue for all athletic departments. Fans aren't going to come back to watch this garbage, even after TraiterTot lifts these arbitrary, ridiculous restrictions.
Cohen can't be allowed to hire another coach in any sport, especially football. It's time for him to go and for us to hire a real AD with both business and sports experience to move us forward again. But we want do that because Cohen is "one of us" or whatever nonsense our decision makers come up with to justify keeping him.
