Love that it appears that Coach is very honest with his players. There was a quote in his interview yesterday where he was talking about Mike Williams and basically said to Mike, "You're a good shooter, but your numbers don't show that. Good shooter need to be between 30-40% from 3. So, I need to find out why you're not and get that fixed."

I really truly think we're going to see development like we've not seen here since the good old days long ago.

Except that he did shoot 32% from three point range last year. And he shot about 35% from three point range during the Big Ten season. This was up from 24% as a freshman. If you are going to give all the credit to the new coaches for development in advance, at least give Jordan a little credit for his improvement to date.

As nice as it will be to see our shooting improve, I am really interested in seeing foot movement on defense, intensity on defense and on the boards, and aggressive hustle.

The one person on the team that you never have to worry about intensity and hustle is Williams.

Agree, I was more talking about everyone in general. But will like to see the foot movement of Mike and the other perimeter playes on defense this year.

I always thought Mike Williams rushed his shots too much in his first two years...that's when he throws up bricks. When he calms down and gets off a shot with good form and follow thru his shooting is much better.

In Mike Williams case

Out of necessity....he was shooting more than probably his natural role on the team was...

He is the PERFECT third guard for 20 minutes a game...behind Corey and Nigel

More selectivity in shots with more guys on the floor who can score this year SHOULD see Mike WIlliams shooting percentage move up to high 30s in the 3 pt range and low to mid 40s overall....

Mike finished the year out well last season (last few games). His shooting picked up with his confidence. Hopefully he can build off of that.

I also believe he had to battle kids who were 5 or 6 inches taller than him and that may have cut down on his shooting %.

As The Donald says "it's only words people!.I will wait for the product on the court .Williams is a good kid by by all accounts
I bet he will improve by another 5 points this season whether coach challenges him or not.

The quote is actually "high 30s and low 40s".

You're right. Williams was a much better shooter when he didn't rush his shot and fronted the basket ....We need more players like Williams . I've always liked his defense , effort and hustle.

He also shot 38% overall. Needs to take better shots inside the arc.

Spoke to some of the boys while up early for a women's soccer game. They all said that they have been working hard on all those things. All felt that they were going to surprise some people.
