Coach Laws has done great things at ACR. It's not easy to find coaches of his caliber. Good luck to him and good luck to the future of ACR's high school football.

It’s official, ACR’s Coach Laws has retired. He will be greatly missed and appreciated so much by the Rocket fans, players, and community. Good luck Coach!
2 of the best Mnt coaches ever back to back at ACR! Congrats to Coach Laws enjoy it! Any word on a replacement? Shouldn’t be to hard to fill one of the best openings in the state.

Thank god. Here is to 10 years of mediocrity like we’ve had since our hall of fame coach retired lol.

In all seriousness, what a great career. Reynolds has been our daddy the last 10 years and it’s a testament to him because often times he had a team not as talented as my cougars and they’ve kicked our ***.

On a personal note, many years ago I was involved in a play that broke Reynolds heart in a win for Asheville high on almost the last play of the game and I asked coach laws if he was coaching in that game when I saw him in the gas station by the school several months ago and he said that he was. And I asked him if he remembered it and he said he did. And I said “that was me”. And he laughed and said “was it? God I still have nightmares about that”. I thought that was a very nice reaction from him when he wasn’t obligated to give it. I wish him luck in whatever endeavor he chooses post coaching.
Ps I hate Reynolds

One about it I believe there will be good list of good coaches that will want that job. Settle for the best you can.

All jokes aside, Reynolds is a very attractive job, Asheville ( WNC) is a very attractive place to live but I don’t know if Asheville is attractive to an outsider to move here on a coach’s salary. This place isn’t cheap.

I’m not sure if I actually saw this correctly but I THINK I saw that of all 50 states in America, North Carolina is dead last in head football coaches salaries. That’s pathetic if true. Throw in Asheville being outrageously expensive now and you have a recipe for getting someone already on staff.

I can see the head guy from Asheville applying for the job, and just maybe the Ams coach will move up to the high school

IMO, just because it is in Buncombe County Schools district and not the city would make it more desirable if all other things are equal.

Rockets introduced Coach Chandler Greer as new head coach today. He’s been on staff for 4 years, coaching the OL, he played and graduated from App State. Being on the sidelines seeing his interactions with the kids I have no doubt he was the kids choice.
