Defense has done a pretty good job.
Hope they can hold out.
Maybe Purdy will look different when he isn't starting inside his own five. Maybe we'll even see smothers for a change of pace.

Just run those two into the ground and throw some play action. We can’t protect for **** anyway.
Mickey won’t play smothers. Not his guy. Smothers only got in when frost was the coach. Mickey plays his guys.
Give Purdy the starters' reps in practice and give Smothers a package of about four plays with a few counters off of them. Why the hell not?
This is early Joseph Era here. Give the guy some breathing room and see if he can adjust more than Frost. Take a deep breath and show a little bit of patience with the man. The object is to win the game. Joseph has done twice now. We gave Frost 4+ seasons. Let's see what Joseph does the rest of the way.
They took 5-6 minutes off the clock in 9ish plays. Was it perfect? No. What is Frost level f—k up? No. The 1st time out made perfect sense. Settle the team down, decide how to proceed. Don’t have a problem with the last either. Punt team already had one blocked. Want to make sure everyone understands their assignments.
