I think Cliff just introduced himself to the NBA. I think scouts are going to start paying a lot more attention to him.
That, and to be able to defend better by getting stronger insideHe has to develop his shooting for the NBA.
Oh jeez. I thought this was over with the annual "Say goodbye to RHJ" for the past 3 years.
The only way Clif isn't at Rutgers next year is if he hates college and/or Pike (which doesn't seem likely).
He's not even being projected as a 2nd rounder - let alone a 1st rounder with a guaranteed contract.
His progression this season has been incredible thus far. I think another year would do him good to further develop his offensive game.I'm projecting him as a mid-late 2nd rounder based on his athleticism and measurables for a big man as well as his progression this year. I've seen him on some NBA Dratft watch sites. He has shortcomings but is much more of an NBA prospect than RHJ was in his sophmore year.
That being said, it would definitely help his prospects to return next year and continue to develop his post moves, mid range and man-on post D.
Yeah Dickinson is way more polished offensively right now and has an NBA-ready body.League told Kofi another year and will tell Cliff the same. Needs to get stronger and develop his outside game as well as a a drop step. Compare Dickinson to Cliff. Dickson could be the best three point guy on the team, he can put it on the floor, and has a wicked drop step with either hand.
Here the one thing I think Cliff needs... some way to go from mid-range jumper to a jam or a layup...
queued to a Chief jam.. Cliff has some speed...
Of course, he could go McHale too.. but that would take longer... though he seems to lean toward this kind of O.. when he is not absolutely jamming it down.. the 3:40 mark shows the up and under stuff.... Cliff has to get from mid-short range to ZERO range.. needs moves for that,, and up and under only works if you can hit ht mid-range stuff.. it might actually be EASIER for Cliff in the NBA with no zone D... well.. no "legal" zone D.
He has to develop his shooting for the NBA.
yeah.. said something similar the end of last season.. for both he and Myles... leg strength.. be a wall the bangers cannot move while still standing tall-ish. It is an issue though... if he had tree-trunk legs and *** to be able to stand with the bangers.. would he be so quick off his feet? When Paul gets posted by a big man.. he kinda hangs in there.. but he is not a leaper and guys can mostly shoot over him if they don't insist on moving him.... he plays small in man to man defense, gets way too low when he covers people in the post, which would get him destroyed in the NBA. He has lacks lower body strength, and while he has made offensive strides this season he is still very raw.
Cliff hasn't been stopped with his drop step yet I don't think since he's shown itLeague told Kofi another year and will tell Cliff the same. Bad take. Cliff needs to get low to get leverage to hold his ground against Kofi. If he stands more straight up he would get walked under the basket and dunked on. Wouldn't be able to put up a fightCliff has several issues which will impact his draft stock, he does not appear to be draftable right now. It’s not clear that he is a center or power forward in the NBA. He looks shorter than his listed height, and if he is not really a center, his offensive game will not translate to the NBA. Regardless of his height, he plays small in man to man defense, gets way too low when he covers people in the post, which would get him destroyed in the NBA. He has lacks lower body strength, and while he has made offensive strides this season he is still very raw.
First of all, he does this all the time, not against Kofi. And whether he can get away with it or not in college, this will not work in the Pros, everyone will shoot right over him.Cliff hasn't been stopped with his drop step yet I don't think since he's shown it
