Second one was on line as well ... Garza and various other Bigs hit them in this league .. also a great FT shooter so it makes sense .. let him do it, can’t be worse than the rest of the team

He looked good on the short jumper too. We have our stretch 4 if Myles comes back. They could definitely be on the court at the same time.

We will need it next year.

In most of our games this year, the best player on the court was wearing the opposing jersey. We won our share of those games, but that's a tough way to live. If that is to change, Cliff is the guy to change it.

He only touched a basketball for the first time 4 years ago. Sky is the limit. So so so raw. Expectations of some were wayyy off. Hes a project but a project with a super high ceiling

A jumper from any distance is not in Myle’s toolbox. Makes the thought of Cliff as our go-to big man a little easier to see.

The guy's got athletic ability and think to a large degree a shooter is born not developed. Cliff just has no clue how to play basketball at this point in his career. Hoping he'll make a big jump next year.

honestly those were sweet strokes, if he can hit that every now and then why not
Hell, it was beyond NBA range. His jumper to start the first Maryland game was all net too. I wondered if that was a fluke but he hasn't taken a jumper after that all year to find out. But first things first. He needs some low post moves.

Would have liked to see Cliff get a few more touches in the low post/mid range during the year. But most of our team doesn’t feed the post. It has been more bigs setting screens or alley-oops.

Roy Hinson upside. Hinson was very raw early in his career, similar athleticism. He developed his shot later.

When was the last time we had a 5 that could score away from the basket? If Cliff can do that a regular basis, it would be game changing!

It’s up to Pike. He can do it and with the nba an athletic possibility you know cliff is working on it. Very natural shooting motion

There was an IG post of a turnaround jumper over Myles Johnson in the practice facility back in the preseason that was pretty good.

He has obvious skills and growth needed on defense (he needs reps to avoid getting lost on that end).....I kinda wondered why RU was attracted and attached to JUCO PF KJ Allen out of LA (Allen picked USC)....but seeing Cliff more, he's not wired to rebound like Myles Johnson is....Allen in scouting reports was just more of an in the paint and around the basket scorer (thinking a poor man's Trevion Williams of Purdue).

If RU can find another true 2 way forward to rebound and help on the glass, you can free up Cliff for some mid range shots. It may make him more effective to get that rebounder to let Cliff offer more versatility to how we play. The ideal PF is someone who can also space and shoot/rebound.

The lack of non conference play really hurt our chance to ease him in. Man he was thrown to the wolves and generally held his own given his inexperience

Why should this skill set surprise people, Cliff is a consensus top 50 player in the 2020 class. He has an offensive skill set he doesn't show often, a good defender, a better defensive rebounder than offensive rebounder. This year isn't about freshman or the future, it's about redemption of a year unfinished. RU has 7 players, plus Doucoure will play and was part of the success process, that earned the right to lead this team into their first NCAA tournament game in 29 years taken away from them last year. Yes, those 7 in 2020-21 aren't the same players of 2019-20, but they earned the right, win or lose, to play in that game If Pike could, he probably would bring back Yeboah and Carter just for the tournament and play them ahead of Cliff in 2020-21. Don't you want to keep a Coach that has that mentality?
