Burns Middle beat N Lincoln 42-0 today. Lost first game to Shelby 6-0 and have dominated everyone since. Beat Crest 14-0 in Jamboree.
Xchamp, if you looking for middle school or mostly jv football scores in the Shelby gazette star, not likely gonna find it. Used to be a good newspaper, now, not so much.
My dad tells me the Star has trouble with games "ending late" for coverage. How is that even possible?
Yeah, Star decided to use lifestyle writer when Alan Ford retired. Gazette cut their sports staff way back when they let Richard Walker go.

The money isn't there anymore for the star to pay anyone. It's very sad, especially in a community where great sports is always being played.
Don’t you dare provide a reason not to keep up with it and let our crappy news paper off the hook. We were on to something and you had to come on here with a time issue. Let us be negative for a day and keep your glass half full opinion to yourself. lol
My biggest complaint is the fact they dont cover the non revenue sports worth a ****, they would always tell us to "call it in" im sorry but thats not my job, its the news papers job to reach out to the coaches. Alan was a decent writer but his lack of coverage was a problem too.
Would be fun to read from some of the Special Contributors on Saturday mornings.

Shelby is big enough to not have to let another newspaper in another city publish our local paper. Years ago when David Thompson was the talk of college basketball, Curt Gowdy on some sports program was singing David’s praises and mentioned Shelby as his hometown, then referred to Shelby as a “sleepy little mill village “, maybe he was right.
Shelby Star hasn’t been a newspaper for about the last 10 years... I just don’t get upset about lol there is no reason to because there is very little news in it that pertains to the area
KMMS lost to Crest Middle and Burns Middle, you really need those newspaper articles.
Shelby is undefeated at 4-0. Plays Crest this week and Crest is 4-0

They don’t play this year unless in the playoffs. This is what I hate about middle school football, they don’t allow but for one cross division game in the East and since Burns and KM are in the East and Shelby and Crest are in the West, they rotate between Burns-Crest, Shelby-KM, Burns-Shelby and Crest-KM games.
Basically comes down to a county playoff about every year for the championship. Burns and KM come out of the west side as either the 1 or 2 and Shelby and Crest come out of the east side as the 1 or 2. Don't believe there is one dominant team this year like there has been in the past. I do know KM lost its best player first game of year to injury and really hasn't been able to do much on offense since. Burns has some really good players that took over the game late against KM. Should be interesting to see how it shakes out in the end.
Yeah it will probably be an all-Cleveland County playoff field, with Burns hosting the loser of the Shelby-Crest matchup and KM playing at the winner in the semifinals.
I know Cooper is still the coach at Burns....Who are the coaches for the other 3 now???
Crest and Burns play next Wed I am told. I think I heard Burns beat them 14-0 at the jamboree. Burns beat WL 41-6 today.
