Here is what the playoffs looked like. A fun look back, many of these schools have consolidated.

It's interesting that some of those schools only played 6 or 7 games. Any idea why?

Any idea how many schools were in class D2 that year? Also, I don't remember Niobrara and Santee being a coop? Anyone know approximately when that started and ended? I'm a little surprised they would not have been D1 or even C2.

Lastly, those were some great Dodge teams.

why did teams make the playoffs with 2 and 3 win seasons. absurd to say the least. yea we get to go play the 8-0, 7-1 team and get embarrassed, hurt and have our asses handed to us and then probably have a 3 hour drive home.

Totally agree. 16 team playoff should be set throughout all the classes.

I had no idea Niobrara and Santee co-oped either. Surprised they were D2.

Yes the Dodge dynasty in the 90's was crazy. Hell Highway 91 for about 15 years brought home an 8 man title every year. Dodge, Howells, HSF, Holy Family. Clarkson was a runner up in 2007.

Maybe how forfeits were handled? Wasn't there even a time when the "winning" schools could chooses to accept the forfeit or not?
