Why is a 10-3 team playing in the Birmingham Bowl? Even Cincinnati deserves a better bowl than that. If I recall correctly, they played in the Sugar Bowl a few years ago. Got obliterated, but played anyway.

Because the AAC was really good this year. Their second place team usually goes to Birmingham. I think Memphis was there last year with 9 wins or so.
