Chris Paul has a chance to make an immediate impact and stick around with Washington. They didn't draft any other OL in the draft and their OL was so so last year. And I think the Cowboys already are counting on Smith to be a starter headed into July camp. The one thing both of them will need to learn is how to pull from certain play calls. TUs offense simply didn't do any of the counter type plays that the pro offenses run. Quite honestly, Paul moves extremely well for being that big. And Smith, once he gets some momentum is just going to crush people. Rarely did you see him get a 2-3 step running start before contact and he is already strong as an ox.

So your massively incorrect about our OLine. We had one of the top OLine in the NFL last year. Our DLine was suspect due to how many first round pics were on it. Now we have lost two of our guards from last year so he has a big chance at getting some play time and possibly winning the starting position. Our OLine was really deep so we were able to take injuries and still be effective.

as for Tyler smith, he would be perfect at the guard position as well. I don’t think he is going to be quick enough for the tackle position. He goes in at left guard and I believe he could have a great shot of being an all pro at that position.

I think Paul ran the second fastest 40 in this years combine for lineman.

Tulsa runs Power and Counter all the time….One of the first things Hanson did when he got to Tulsa was make sure counter was installed.

As many WFT games as I watched last year it always seemed like the QBs were running for their life a lot. Maybe they just held the ball too long but it just didn't seem like anything on the offensive side really clicked for the team despite having some really good players at RB and WR. Washington has always been my other team to root for ever since I was about ten and my uncle told me it wasn't healthy for kids to root for the Patriots (he was a 30 yr Pats season ticket holder before letting them go the season before they built Gillette). I adopted WAS because of the Smurfs, Fun Bunch and John Riggins and the HOGS. That fandom was cemented when Gus went there as a 7th round pick and he beat out Heath Shuler to be QB1.

Taylor Heinike is like 5’8 and trying to look over guys who are 6’5 or better. Lol. He had to get outside the pocket quite a bit but that is what the plays called for. Some defenses could get players though our line. Dallas unfortunately was one of them. We just couldn’t find an answer for the defense. We lost both our starting guards in Brandon Scherff and Ereck Flowers. I believe they are going to put Saahdiq Charles in at guard and that will leave Paul a chance to take that other Guard position. Since we haven’t really brought in any other Guards this gives him a great chance to take that starting position because the others are regular run of the mill guards.
I am a season ticket holder for Washington and I have lived and breathed this team for over 30 years. Last year was the first time I was happy about our OLine in quite a while. We picked up wentz (who is injury prone) and then release two all pro guards! Just made no sense to me.

So sorry about your new team name. Many Cowboy fans will still refer to WTF as Red Bottoms after another spanking!

I think Wentz can play...Washington is probably not the place for him. Philly with Peterson and Indy with Reich were probably 2 of the better places for him...maybe OAK where McDaniels went. He needs a dedicated QB guy. Philly never helped him with the WRs they kept trying to run out there, but Indy was getting there. Rivera seems to be a great coach if you play on defense but I've not seen the QBs really develop there in a while...the QB the player is at the start of the year seems to be where he's going to be at the end...no real growth or development. And this may be the frustration of the WRs who are there. We'll see...I hope they do well this year and can knock the Cowboys, Eagles, and Giants down a peg...especially the Cowboys

I’m just contributing to this thread only bc there was a John Riggins reference. The Diesel was a bad dude. Especially New York Jets mohawk Riggins. Hated the Redskins but loved that guy.
My favorite player of that era. I had a jersey that I would wear when we played street football...or we found a strip of grass and played so no pad tackle football. Ran a few kids over wearing that jersey

That's fantastic! They're about to find out that their teammate has aspirations so much bigger than football.

So got to see Chris getting that work in today. I told my friend who went with me that if I only get one signature today that I wanted it to be Chris Paul. At the End of OTA's today he was doing some side work on blocking utilizing the goal post. He was heading towards the facility and I called out his name. Now I normally do not do that because you are at work. IF you want to come over then I will welcome it btu I dont ask for it. So I said his name and then he saw me in the Tulsa Hoodie. He was like a Tulsa fan! I told him that I came today specifically to see him and get his autograph. My friend saw him coming over and took a couple of pictures. He said he should have gotten a video because when I told him I came specifically for him, his face lit up like a Christmas Tree and he looked like more of a fan of mine than me of his. So here it is the Chris Lowe and Chris Paul Picture.
Today was a great day!

Josh Johnson did sign with the Lions. Wonder if he has a chance to stick or at least make PS.
Good question! I did look up to see if the cowboys depth chart was out yet for Tyler Smith but it isn’t yet. Since I am a season ticket holder for Washington, I get all things Washington related. Preseason games start in 2 days so cuts will be made.
