Said to be top candidates for the SJU job. You'd have to hope for Mullin here, as I think he'll have issues recruiting.

??
Chris makes $1 mm per year as part-time consultant to Sacramento Kings, and 1/2 mill as part-time
analyst for ESPN--he is not going back to college.

Danny Hurley couldn't get an interview for the Fordham job.

New President at St John's is in for rude reality of not a very attractive job anymore.

why do you basketball-starved, no booster people always make everything so personal?

SILLY. I'll continue to ignore.

Anyhow, Mike Repole is an investor in our funds and he wants one of the Antigua brothers.
Leave it to you to deny it because you don't see it on some silly local blog.

Other names I've heard at St. John's besides Chris Mullin and Danny Hurley: Richard Pitino, Tim Cluess, Steve Masiello

Not sure why Pitino would leave the B10 for St Johns though.

Also a thought:
If Danny lands the St Johns gig would Bobby ever entertain a NY area job (ie. Rutgers, Seton Hall, Fordham, etc...). The 2 brothers may not want to compete over the same recruits in the same city.

Would be surprised if Mullin. He has it pretty good out here in California and still is a legend as a Run TMC member despite a less than successful GM stint with the Warriors.

They would both recruit the NYC area, regardless of where their school was located.

I could understand not wanting to be in the same conference.

LOL ! I do think he thought it was young Richard , who hasn't done much at Minny. Also, not sure why, but it seems the NYC HS BB talent has dropped off sharply in the past decade. Where are the Kenny Andersons, Pearl Washingtons, let alone the Mullins, Alcindors and Connie Hawkins (all legends). No Super Talents since Marbury, who is doing well in China.

I think Mark Jackson would be the dream pick for them. Would cost big dollars. I have seen reports that Mullin wants the job but he more than Mark would need strong recruiting assistants.

of course. Why would Rick (not Richard) even be mentioned?

It's would be a downward move for Richard.

This pipedream that St Johns is somehow NYC's team and is a big deal is so outdated. They are a private school that is in NY. Big deal. And DePaul is in Chicago. If St Johns wants to talk about the glory days, fine, then I'm allowed to pump up Rutgers since we made the final four just a few short years before Chris Mullin arrived

Bernie glad to see you are allowed computer access.
But don't you think name dropping when your playing the part of an anonymous poster a bit much.
See you in around 150 years

For those not trying to sell a load of $#1t
Think Danny would want the same type of deal he demanded from Rutgers and Chris , being a St John's man,
might take a little less and get the boosters involved more ( at first) than Danny would have..
I would think Mullins would have a slight edge and if Hurley isn't in St John's plans , it's because he let them know
through third parties what it would take to get him to listen to an offer.

NYC Hoops has taken a major dip due to outfits like the Gauchos and the Riverside Hawks basically going away. Those outfits were St Johns feeder programs .

Too may kids don't stick around and end up playing for the New England Prep schools by their 3rd and 4th years.

Still some great players but not nearly the volume.

as long as MSG remains their home court, SJ's is a relative program and IMO, a much better one than Minnesota

one of the Hurley's would do very well recruiting this area
