ESPN CFP Article from 2 weeks ago

The New Yahoo article has more information....

So 2 weeks ago the proposal going around was
  • Auto Byes for the SEC and B10.
  • Financial Base Distribution of 25-30% each to the SEC/B10. 15-20% each to the Big12/ACC. 7-11% to the rest.
  • Separate Participation distribution depending on amount of teams from each conference and additional for wins.
  • 14-team 3/3/2/2/1 with 3 at larges
Now
  • Auto Byes are gone
  • 58% to the SEC/B10. 31% to the Big12/ACC. 10-11% to the rest.
  • Separate Participation distribution of about 100M depending on amount of teams from each conference and additional for wins.
  • Options being reviewed
  • 14-team 3/3/2/2/1 with 3 at larges
  • 14-team 2/2/1/1/1 with 7 at larges
  • 14-team 1/1/1/1/1 with 9 at larges

Observations/Notes
  • Seems like the B10 and SEC seceded the byes for the higher end of the distribution money.
  • The contract is expected to include a definitive “look-in” provision in 2028. The look-in provision can be triggered before that date from any conference realignment — a provision that Big 12 commissioner Brett Yormark encouraged to be added......
  • There were notes of Clemson Attorneys gearing up for battle as well
  • There was an ESPN Article where Heater Dinich noted that "ACC is expected to receive slightly more than the Big 12 because of its past playoff participants"
