Defense seemed to pick up a tad when she came into the game. She appears to be a bit better on defense than Brooks imo.
Anytime you win 3 games in 3 days you have done well. Columbia could easily win the IVY and be a tourney team. K State probably a bubble team and SDSU could win their conference too
IMO I think there will be some extra minutes given to Henderson as the season moves forward. She looks tall and long and she can run the court very fast. Coach will have to figure out the minutes for Reniya. Elina is the point guard.
Just pulled into Carolina Brewery off of I40, what a fun drive. Was listening to game on the way. I think I am beginning to see a little bit of the old Dean Smith bench is a great motivation when someone does not lay defense the way she likes. Remember Donald Williams freshman year?
I believe she will be the defensive successor to Nivar. She's already showing an aptitude for it.

We got to watch the game at a friend’s house; we were out of town for the first two. Nyla Brooks looks like she is definitely having an “off” day. And, in her post-game interview with Matt Krause, she mentioned that this was a totally different game for us from a defensive standpoint. Nyla looked a little lost on defense when she was in the game. Perhaps she was getting "coached up" on the sidelines to help her the next time we face a similar defense?

Went to the volleyball game and came home to replay it on FloSports... and I should have known they wouldn't let me. When you click replay it just sends you to a screen for Columbia or UNC... and then replay again. It's a circle... freaking Flo... glad we're done with them this year.

It’s unfortunate that Flo apparently has rights to Battle for Atlantis, Cancun Classic, Ft Meyers, and PR…..
I guess CB was experimenting with the line up and rotation which I do not understand. I would continue to do what work the 1st two games. Play 9 to 10 players. Texas is next and you do not want to experiment during that game. Just play the 9 and 10 players that you have been playing.
Don't want to make too much out of it - lots of games to go - but this 3-game sweep was important and hopefully it will pay dividends down the road.

They will have to overcome their FT percentage as a team. This was the same problem last year. You would think this would get better this year. FT's is just mental. How can you shot them in high school but come to college and cannot make them. The court and height of the rims and goal are still the same. I can still make them at my age.
Flo Sports has the rights to lots of Thanksgiving tournaments. When we played in the Paradise Jam (St. John, VI) a few years ago Flo Sport had the right to that one as well.

-Elina and Lanie were fantastic today. A combined 14-25 (3-8 from 3), 34 points, 7 assists; 4 steals. Hard to justify taking them out. 36 min each, I believe the most of anyone all year today…. But again with them playing that well….
- Indya has played out of her mind. Laila was great this tournament. Just 2 turnovers in 51 minutes. Both stretched the floor. Again- hard to justify reducing their minutes.

She’s made great strides- but again- she’s a FR and is learning our system and how to play defense at the college level. A couple of TOs in 9 minutes and I believe gave up 4 3s to her assignment- though I could be wrong on that. She’s going to continue to grow and will be an elite two-way player by January.
All-in-all….. we’re 8-1! Better than or right where we expected so far. Wins over 3-4 NCAAT teams already. Keep working and getting better every day!

Taliyah is a future star in waiting. Nyla Brooks is a future star maybe already a star on offense.

Those tourneys have more value to Flo getting new one-time subscribers than they do for ESPN who probably will not add many subscribers because the diehard fans are already on board…
They also have the media rights for the CAA, so any time we play on the road against teams in that conference, the game airs on Flo. We already saw that this year with the A&T game, and baseball played at Elon and UNCW last year.
Can someone explain how BT got hurt before the season started? CB will have to add another 5 in the portal for next year since we will have 1 more spot available. NB is a great addition at 6'5." Blanca's injury is going to slow down her progression for this year. The biggest jump according to the experts is b/w your freshmen and sophomore years. Since BT is hurt going into her sophomore year, this is going to hurt her growth because her rhythm, timing, chemistry, conditioning, etc. will be off once she comes back and CB and Staff are going to have to bring her along slowly with minutes, etc.
Impossible to know since UNC will throw HIPPA in your face and refuse to give any details of injuries. As with Alyssa last year, Blanca's injury is likely more serious than we have been told. It isn't the first time this has happened.
I am beginning to think that if this issue with BT goes on much longer we may be talking redshirt. The next week may tell.

BT might not have an injury per se, back in my college days Dennis Wucik had mono in soph season and played thru it but Coach DES said he would have red shirted him if he had to do it again.

She's dressed the last two. CB has said in post-game pressers that if it was really serious, she would say so just so she could stop getting asked the question. RL had been asking her every single game.
What I was getting at is how much of the season has already been played. So if this continues do you make the calculation of her playing but taking a few games to get in game shape versus redshirting and having three full (hopefully) years to play with Kate et all? Personally I hope she plays this year and very soon and that is what I expect to happen But something to think about.

Yes, there are a million things that could be wrong with BT, and 80% of them it would be really out of line sharing that publicly with the fandom at large. It can be frustrating obviously for us fanatics who obsess about the rotation, but it is not any of our business.
I hate it for BT that she worked hard in the off season to peak her game and body and has to deal with

Definitely see your point- but even if you were to get her for conference play, etc. We are already a top 12 team without her, Taissa, and with like 8 new players via portal, FR, and increased playing time. This team has the chance to be special.
BT has an injury that will require complete rest to fully heal. She will deal with discomfort until that happens. I think we will see her soon in limited minutes.
She was cleared today for full activity. Her fitness will be the immediate goal with hopefully no set backs.
