Can we bench the OC?

Seems to me the UCLA bowl game offensive game plan would have blown these guys out of the water. You counteract defensive speed with straight ahead power. We should have been in 21 sets for at least 80% of our snaps. This game is 100% on Oh Danny Boy.
How often does a HC demote the OC..only to have him call plays once again down the road? Geee Golly Riley, can't believe that Langsdorf is falling flat on his face!

I didn't get to watch much of the game today but from what I did watch, it didn't look to me that it mattered what play we called. Our O line got abused by NIU. Their DC dialed up a very good game plan.

when one team's DL is superior to the other team's OL, there really isn't much you can do. But whose fault is that?

I think Riley has done it to Langsdorf before. But then he turned around and hired him again.

Seems like most DCs are dialing up good game plans against our O.

To me its our offenses inconsistency that is most frustrating. Cant get in a rhythm. Now i dont know if thats the O-line, the OC, or the QB or likely a combination of all three. With most of blame likely lying with the line.

No more firings unless it is everyone.
Why? Are the buyouts for assistant coaches that bad? Alabama got rid of their OC a week before the national title game. Coaches fire and replace assistant coaches all the time during the season and it's especially common with OL coaches, the position most in need of an immediate upgrade. Excuses are never acceptable, but if Riley can upgrade at a position of need, I think he needs to do it.

Wisconsin fired their OL coach in the middle of the season a couple years ago and made an instant improvement.

I think we know that if Riley ends up losing to OSU, PSU, Wisky and Iowa that he is going to be "retiring" that will be at best a 6-6 season.

Its more like we are becoming predictable on offense, without Bryant in at running back, our offense has become too one dimensional. The sad thing is that our tight ends have disappeared from the offense for the most part.

I think we struggle with Rutgers and Illinois as well. This season looks more like 4-8 to me

Not to mention Purdue,NW and Minnesota.

Pretty sad when you think we can only win 2 more games.

Danny can't call a good game on SAT. Gives up way too early. No creativity. Zero. He's a nice guy but come Sat he chokes. Feel bad for the players. That said Riley needs to step up and say keep running the freaking BALL!!

Easy call Cav. Should have went with Banker last year. No a coach. Doesn't even look like a coach.

Afraid he's like our QB. The lights and pressure comes and they freeze up and run away from the game plan. That's when Riley has to step in and over ride that change of direction. Like any CEO would have to do to stay in business. Problem is we have a great CEO but need a Head Coach with some nuggets. He showed up with Banker. That Special Teams guy should have never come to Lincoln in the first place. Just bad decisions. Now we are back to square one.
