Can/Should We Try To Bundle RU Practice Facility/NJIT Arena ?

Do you guys think we can/should try to seek out bundle funds for a Rutgers practice facility in Piscataway with the new NJIT arena in Newark with the hopes of getting more northern New Jersey,especially Essex County,politicians on board ?

Practice facility in Newark?

Almost all practice facilities on are campus so players have access to them 24/7...some that are located right next to their dorms.

Practice facilities are for players, coaches, future recruits...it has nothing to do with gaining more exposure in another area.

If the state puts any money into the NJIT facility, we should absolutely be allocated some funding in that effort

because of politics the only way to get state funds is if the practice arena has a dual purpose for the general student body, certain educational programs, and community good. You may be able to use the space for those studying certain specialties with the medical school and sports science. Making it available for the community outside of Rutgers is probably not likely. This would include letting certain high school teams use the facilities or have games there. That may be a partial recruiting issue plus if other groups are using the facility the athletes from Rutgers can't.
