Like if they hired a coach to run the offense. Let’s say he was a motion offense and the plan was to take the rev share funds to grab guys for that.
Otherwise it’s a waste.
I mean if we’ve got 6/6.5M to spend on the roster it’s actually comical.
In what world does this roster equate to 6.5M next season? We have 7 freshmen presumably because you plan to bring them back, why else would you recruit HS?
I think your still a tad premature. The next 5 games are crossroad for Pike. He’ll be fired midseason if he loses to Del State (at least I’d hope he would be). Assuming we win that one, to avoid the fate you described he must find a win in the next 4 games that follow. Pencil in a loss @ Illinois, but the 3 home games vs OSU, NW and Oregon should be circled in bold for exclamation. If he loses all of them (regardless of how competitive we are) I think you’ll be right about the rumors. If we’re blown out in all of them, while a long shot, a midseason dismissal may not be out of the question.
The thing is, if we lose those 3 home games, then looking ahead - the next 7 games are either on the road, vs ranked teams, or both except one home game vs Indiana. So getting out of the donut column soon is really important for him.
We’ll beat Delaware State, but may never get another win. At least, There aren’t any remaining sure wins.
Have heard he's getting 8 million NIL and definitely one more year to turn this sht show around

Richie has stated numerous times that she is doing a great job in raising money so we don’t really know exact numbers
I understand where you are coming from but are you and some of your dental friends going to put up the $$$ to buy out the contract? I don’t think so. His buy out drops in another season but with that being said Kelli will give him one year with NIL to right the ship. If he can retain a basic core and bring in 2-3 players that are at Grants level or better we will be mid pack. Schools with $$$$ have done this in the last few years. Look what Purdue and Indiana did with football. It was all about NIL. Our former President and AD screwed our sports teams over royally. Hobbs should have been fired when he decided not to look for money. Our President obviously was not interested in sports because he was too busy helping our academic side in getting grants.

Koko I believe the NIL with the new rules now comes from the companies ( I believe Richie had a thread on this a while back) and the quote individual donors go into the academic excellence fund
Now of course I am sure there are ways around that as someone like a Mark Cuban who is now backing Indiana can donate his 30 million or so
But Keli has done an excellent job in raising money and I know her and Todd Knisley who is in charge of fundraising are more than working their tails off to raise money as they have helped secure some recruits in the Olympic sports with money that was previously not available to those teams

Look at Schiano he finally realized he made a huge mistake on the defensive side and he has basically cleaned house

We've already been annihilated in the B1G. Now it is just going to get worse.
The offensive line graded out fine and you've got AJ Surace as next man up, plus you have a really good RB room. The problem this year was the defense at all levels.
It’s time for you to admit that Pikiell is a disgrace and an embarrassment to the school. The way he manages the team last year with two lottery picks was unconscionable.
His agent did what he had to do to get the extension. Now Rutgers has to do what they have to do. The next coach won't care because he will get a guaranteed NIL figure anyway.

Should have NEVER been hired by the beauty named Hobbs to begin with. He could have done it last year, but they are "attorney buddies." He was also busy double dipping with the gymnastic coach. She and team are about to be smashed/destroyed by an extremely talented BigTen.

I guess he was also a disgrace and embarrassment when he resurrected one of the worst programs in the country? You think he’s a terrible coach, fine, it’s your opinion and it’s shared by others on this board. But very, very few would describe him as a disgrace and embarrassment to the school.
