My family was floored that I said if I were the Eagles, they should pick Cam Jurgens. Then boom ... they chose him seconds later. I think he has great Pro potential.

I think the Eagles just extended their Center's contract so he should have time to develop.

What is Jason Kelce salary?

The Eagles paid the 34-year-old Kelce like the top center he is, but in typical Eagles fashion, they constructed the contract in a way that limits his cap hit in 2022. Technically, this contract from the Eagles is a five-year deal, worked as an extension, worth $45 million but don't worry about any of that.Mar 17, 2022

Good for Cam! He bet on himself and it paid off. Everyone should be happy for the Nebraska kid who played for Nebraska and was all about team until he realized it was time to earn millions. Good job Beef Jurgey.

I’m happy for Cam, and happy Frost comes out looking ok on the deal moving him to Center from TE.
It does worry me that much more about our OL underperforming last year with a 2nd rounder anchoring them.

OT was generally the problem, esp after Nouli took over at guard.

Cam was never very good, but he has unicorn type athleticism for a center. NFL guys will whip him into a monster if he has the drive....

Would love to get JLB’s thoughts on Cam…

NVM. Already know his thoughts on Cam at center.

Regardless of what some people within the football program thought…it looks like Cam Jurgens made the correct decision to turn pro after the 2021 season. Winking

Not surprised at all the Jurgens was drafted in the second round. One of the best examples of the kind of athlete he is was on a BS call against him against Oklahoma. The guy pancaked a player 40 yards downfield.

My favorite play was when he ran down a DB from behind after an interception. That dude had to have gotten destroyed by his buddies in film review that week. Huge motor. Great guy. Endured way too much criticism for what I think was a crappy line coach's inability to coach centers. It took one former center working with him on his technique for a couple of days to fix his snap problem.

This is simply false. Cam was an excellent blocker and did some unreal things for the center position.
Snapping issues over-shadowed his blocking ability. You could tell early on the ability was there.
He'll come in and play guard right away and learn from one of the best and take over when Kelce retires after this year. Kelce was part of the process of evaluating O linemen and convinced the Eagles to take him.

He was average at best. Made a ton of mistakes, etc....with that said he will probably be light years better in the NFL than he was a Nebraska.

Yep. Average players routinely get drafted in the second round. Call it a reward for their averageness.

Kind of makes me laugh about the discussion huskerssalt and I had about who would be better between Linderbaum and Jurgens a long time ago. Both turn out to be solid players who are going to get paid!

He was drafted on potential period....and yes average college players get drafted high on measurables and potential. Perfect example is Danielle Hunter taken at pick 80 by the Vikings and he had a whopping 4 sacks in his entire college career at LSU.

You said he was average at best. Which means at worst, he was terrible.

I’m not saying he was a world beater, but by his third year he was far better than average.

As someone who actually played center in college and has been an offensive line coach. If you don't realize that Cam Jurgens was one of the best centers in all of college football last year...you know nothing about offensive line play.

Nope Cam Jurgens is terrible. (Something about snaps and when he played tightend in high school)
