Very entertaining game in the second half. Burns would pull ahead and Huss would make a big play to crawl back in it. Dogs made a key mistake in the 4th to open the door for Huss to take a 26-23 lead but the Cameron Barbee lead offense stayed composed and drove down the field to score on a 4th n 4 play with under a minute left for the win!

My take on the game...
Burns is much improved from last season. I can tell our QB has matured and worked hard this off season. We have some good skill athletes that made some nice plays throughout the game. AJ Camp Ran the ball well at some big moments, Aaron Hill stepped up and made some BIG plays! Magale Burris created his own holes for some tough yards. Our depth is a problem, but if we can keep getting better, I see some good wins in our future! Way to show some poise out there on the drive for the QB!

Any win is a good win. We are banged up already. Got a handful of starters out. One of our best athletes for several weeks possibly. Next man up time already.

Heard about the injuries, sorry Bulldogs. It's never good to have so many out with an already small roster. Keep fighting though! 2-0 is a great start! Gaston county is 0-4 against Cleveland county so far! I think Shelby vs SP is the last one.

Zack going out right off the bat hurt big time because he is like losing 2 starters since he plays both ways . A dropped td pass early hurt . We moved the ball up and down the field just struggled in the red zone .... But that final drive to win may help this team more in the long term then winning by a big margin. Hats off to Colburn on his one handed catch and for the winning td and our qb on a great play.flashbacks to ER last year .

Appreciate the class 91. Yea it's tough but that is the game we love so much. Central is winnable but not sure at this point how many starters we will have out but at least it's an endowment game . Congrats to you on the ashbrook win

correction Gaston County is 0-5 Noga 0-1, EG 0-1, Ashbrook 0-1 SP 0-1 Huss 0-1

Little worried about how many starters will be able to play against Central Cabarrus but if we do lose we can drop it come playoff time. Consider it a mulligan. CC lost to JM Robinson but beat Mount Pleasant. JMR may be better this year, time will tell.

Great win by the Dogs last night! Lawndog12 and I were going crazy on the sidelines when we scored the winning TD. Even wounded Dogs fight! We should have blown them out of the water but we had trouble in the red zone and had a TD called back and we dropped another, plus all the injuries.

Hunter Huss played a good game and did not quit til the end . They are a good young football team . I was proud of the Bulldogs for not giving up after losing the lead and doing what it took to get the win in the end. it shows some maturing on their part .

It will be interesting to see who's dressed out at practice tomorrow....injury list is unreal - QB, Slot, Corner, 2 RBs,safety, WR., maybe the JVs are playing this week after all.

I heard HHs offense was the worst offense in HS football around Gaston County this side of Ashbrook's annual offense that is trotted out onto the field.
