I know this has been discussed before but there has been some difference of opinions.

Can anyone confirm that he will actually be redshirting despite playing in 2 games this season.

I saw on one thread someone saying they saw him in a boot a few weeks ago. Is this true?

Pikiell informed members at the most recent Court Club meeting that Bullock will be redshirting this season.

Please drop a little weight and work on his outside shot.....need shooters, hopefully Baker and Bullock can help next year.

Only way he gets redshirted is with an injury.

Just because a guy is redshirted doesn't mean he will be in the program for 5 years.

Think you are wrong here. Pretty sure you have 4 years of eligibility in a 5 year span.

FIG didn't say anything about being eligible to be with the program for 5 years, just that it doesn't mean he "will be in the program" for 5 years. He might transfer out before his senior season, he might leave as a grad transfer for his 5th year, etc.

I'd think he'd have to earn being in the program his 5th year at RU. If he had his degree he could play somewhere else without waiting an extra year.

I was pretty sure playing in 1 game disqualified you from a redshirt. He has been in warmup clothes everygame. I am not sure how you can get away with getting a medical redshirt.

Here are the rules.

For an athlete to receive a standard redshirt, the NCAA requires that player not be involved in any competition for the year he is redshirted. Any amount of competition time, even 1 minute on a basketball court during a regular season game, for example, counts as a season of eligibility.

An athlete can qualify for an exemption if she has a documented, incapacitating injury or illness that occurred in the first half of the basketball season and the student-athlete has not participated in more than two contests or dates of competition or 20 percent of her team's scheduled contests, whichever number is greater.

Bottom line since Bullock only appeared twice, he can redshirt if he has a documented injury.

We have spoken son this before in here. Bullock was most likely only taken to build equity with Roselle Catholic and the SportsU aau program. Great kid and a winner at the HS level but he's not a B1G level player. Power forward with guard height. Believe he transfers if not after this year maybe next.

In retrospect, it's baffling why he was inserted into 2 games for about a total of 1 minute given these rules.

It's entirely possible that he's dealing with an injury/illness that isn't obviously apparent, too, that allows him to do limited practice/exercise but keeps him out of the higher intensity environment of live games. Who knows.

Until I hear otherwise, he's medically redshirting this year and will be back next year.

Well...He's now officially injured. There..That was easy. Um..Leg issue I guess? Yea we'll just say the leg. Which one? Right leg on weekdays, left leg on weekends.

Making up an injury for a medical redshirt is like the easiest thing to do in either basketball or football.

You know what they say about assuming things...

And even if you knew this for a fact, have a little class.

Incapacitating injury in the 1st half of the year...how can he be in layup lines and have an incapacitating injury.
