The governor wasn’t chiming in on this last year when they were 9-3 and had the Hiesman trophy winner playing and Colorado was a National darling.
I totally forgot they had that good of a record in 2024. They clocked Okie State 55-0 the last game of the reg season, which was probably the early nail in Gundy's coffin.

Colorado's higher education brass doesn't like to admit it, but they need Deion way more than he needs CU. They had an even bigger financial dumpster fire on their hands before he was hired, when CU could barely give football tickets away for free.

Coach Prime got the fans excited and engaged. With all the money in the Boulder area it is crazy they don't have a better NIL budget. CU has never really made a serious commitment to football, not in the way NU and a lot of other programs have invested in the stadium and facilities. CU is lucky Prime got the train back on the track. Sadly you have to wonder how long he will be able to coach. If he can not continue, the Dan Hawkins days may return quickly ( LMAO ). Their fans are still the worst in college football. Zero class.

As a liberal, I can tell you that there is a very confusing mindset when it comes to college football. College football can be viewed as a waste of money, as a distraction from education, as a violent sport, as an exploitation of athletes, a mindless endeavor, an exercise in pointless tribalism among other things. This is why places like UCLA, Colorado, which are extremely liberal, struggle to find people to support the program unless the success is so obvious that it becomes intoxicating. I personally love college football but a lot of my liberal friends can't stand it for the above reasons, even those that grew up in rural Nebraska and loved the Glory Years.

This is all true, but it’s also compounded by the fact that the whole Front Range is a pro sports-oriented market. There are pockets of fans who pay attention to CU and CSU athletics, Denver U. hockey and Air Force football. But for the majority of people here, unless a college team is surprisingly good or catastrophically bad, they just don’t care.

Another compounding factor is the Front Range is also a highly transient population base so people are following both college and pro sports teams from around the country from where they came from or graduated from, and not the local teams. Case in point, the Colorado Rockies - they still drew attendance in the top half of MLB despite fielding one of the worst teams in MLB history because there are so many people living in Denver that go to games to root for who the Rockies are playing against.

Hate to say it, but I don't see how Prime will be able to keep going with all his health issues. Have to admire how he's fighting through it, but he's got to be getting near the end of his coaching career. I'm afraid he may be getting towards the end of his life. 😕

Many people mock and belittle him yet they themselves have 1/100th the mental and physical fortitude that Prime has
