Geno on Azzi Fudd:
“Her footwork is the kind of footwork that you would expect from someone going into the pros, someone who has spent three or four years perfecting that," Auriemma said last week. "That’s how good her footwork is. Her ability to get shots off, and the way the shot comes off every single time the same way. I knew it, but when you watch it on a regular basis, it’s pretty amazing. And she’s a lot stronger than I realized. I had never spent that much time that close. So it’s been fun watching her.”

This kid Fudd has a very beautiful smile, and although she seems a bit introverted I think her NIL marketing opportunities will be significant. People just need to see her play in college and it hasn't happened yet.

I did a search on the Fuddruckers website and they actually have one location in Connecticut- at the Foxwoods Casino. Someone needs to tell the franchise owner there that if he or she can get the parent company to make a little investment in Azzi as their pitchwoman he can really ring the bell. Maybe they will come out with a new Azzi Fuddburger at least in the Connecticut market? And you get a free Azzi Fudd bobble head doll with the first 100 Azzi Fuddburgers purchased.

The pressure is definitely on Geno to finish and win multiple ships the next three years.

I don't think there is going to be as much pressure as you think. He is not "rolling out the balls" like Guy Lewis was, and he is going to have one of the deepest and most talented teams he has ever had next year. It will not be surprising if they are undefeated national champions next year. Could it get messed up due to injuries like it did with the juggernaut 2001 team? Yes, but those injuries were fluky and badly timed at the very end of the season. Plus the depth is so much better than the precarious depth they had with the teams that lost in the past 4 Final Fours in a row. Also, there are probably only going to be 2 or 3 teams that legitimately have a shot at beating UConn on a neutral court, like Stanford, South Carolina.

But what I like most about this team is its experience level. Geno has probably had only 1 or 2 teams that returned this much very experienced talent. And they are all very unselfish kids who have shown improvement in their games. One of the problems they had last year, 3 point shooting, has also been addressed with the bringing in of 2 superb shooters, and Poffenbarger is a better 3 point shooter than what she showed last year, plus she was coming off surgery.

I think we should all sit back and enjoy the ride. The next 3 years are going to be a lot of fun.

I agree KEA. But he better win the last game a few times the next 3-4 years. 😇

Here's a read on one of the "other" new players.....“A lot of these people who tell you how great everybody is, they forgot all about her,” Auriemma said. “So she was like an afterthought to everybody.
