Mike Florio spends entirely too much time obsessing over quarterbacks and their contracts. He’s had his own lawyers go over this one. He alleges they have an out.
there appears to be one if they can prove he lied to them. That said, this would get tied up in the courts for years if they went that route. The attorneys would make a fortune and eventually they would probably settle for a percentage of his guarantee. I can't imagine Watson wanting to take it to trial if he sued them.

I guess they thought Jones was too injury prone and on the downside of his career. I was surprised when they made the move. When Jones is healthy he's top tier with his versatility and explosiveness. The problem is he has only been fully healthy for parts of the last few seasons. Excellent pickup for the vikes.

Interesting conspiracy theory floated there. The Browns could tell the "victim" that they'll deposit 10 million in an off shore account for her if she accuses Watson publicly and wins a judgement. Hell they could outright pay her just to make the complaint. Lifestyles of the rich and famous. One side note: I heard a commentator make the observation that last week it didn't seem like Watson really cared much about how well he plays. And I believe that. Last year, when Flacco was playing well, Watson was parading around on the sideline wearing a stocking hat. He just seemed like a distraction and appeared not to be engaged with the OC or anything in particular. He was just there. That struck me as odd-- the next week and rest of the season, I believe Watson wasn't required to even be on the sideline. He had a surgery early before the end of the season and was told to stay home and rest!
