More like Louisville adding Donovan Mitchell and Antonio Blankeney and Zona adding Justin Simon and Alonzo Trier. Those backcourts are obviously too crowded and now he adds us back into the mix after cutting us when JA committed and also adds UK.

I have no idea where Briscoe is leaning but it should be interesting to see how it plays out

I really dont know what to think here......I want Briscoe but really think we are set at guard for a title run in the next 2-4 years.

Give me Jones, Enoch, and Stone and I'm fat and happy.

I would take Briscoe or Newman but if we miss out on both of them then oh well.

I do agree with you Dom that I would like Jones/Clarke, Enoch and Stone to round things out - add JA to that mix and what a class that would be

I have gotten interested in recruiting in the last few days. I looked at this Briscoe guy. Or at least what I found on line. I was not blown away. He looks like Carl Krowser* to me. I'm not blown away. He definitely has basketball skill, but not overly athletic or big. It also sounds like he's a definite 1 and done guy....just go to Kentucky already so we can move on.

According to Zags, Briscoe said the UConn visit went very very well and that he "has a lot to think about". He is still a UK lean as his father more than anything else seems to be wowed by Cal and Kentucky. He would definitely be less in the spotlight at UK than at UConn and has admitted that he and Jalen can definitely co-exist.

I want Briscoe but would not be upset if he ultimately went elsewhere...we have other guard options to turn to if we miss on Boogie

The Roselle Catholic High (New Jersey) lead guard told Paul Biancardi, ESPN's national director of recruiting, that
Connecticut, Kentucky and St. John's are the only teams that remain in the picture.

"I have been paying attention to rosters and who is projected to leave and things like that so when I finally pick a
school it makes sense," Briscoe told ESPN. The Wildcats have one commitment in the Class of 2014, four-star
shooting guard Charles Matthews. UConn already has a commitment from guard Jalen Adams while St. John's
has no commits in its current recruiting class.Top 10 recruit cuts his list to three schools

Based on what I am reading UK would seem to be the best fit if Harrison leaves, which he probably will. UConn can counteract that perception, perhaps, by convincing Briscoe that UConn can run a two point guard offense, and in fact has done so in 2 of the 4 national championship runs.

We can make a 2 PG backcourt work but man we have a talented group coming back next year with at least TSam and Cassell to go with Adams. Nor sure Purvis doesnt come back and surely Briscoe will decide before those decisions are made.

Newman or Briscoe would be HUGE hauls for us but a reach at best for either.

You do know there are 2 Harrison's and they are twins ? So yes... plenty of room if they are both gone.
I see St. Johns as his spot if he wants the guaranteed PT from his quote and then the UK choice might
depend on whether Malik Newman picks UK or Kansas, who seem to be his leaders. But with Adams
already in the mix along with T-Sam, Cassell and probably Purvis, (not road tested, I'm thinking 2 year player)
I can't see Briscoe wanting to compete with those guys on paper, as Dom said, especially if he's gonna
make a fall decision.

I meant the Harrison who plays point guard. UK has a 5 star recruit coming in at shooting guard so the probable opening is at point guard.

Well they also have Tyler Ulis a 5 star freshman that's a true PG this year. He was their 4th leading scorer and 2nd in asst,
in those 6 Bahamas games they played so far, so they probably have a future starter at that position too.

Ulis is the game changer for them, if he can be a pest defender UK has a shot to win it all. Harrisons's are not that great, both are still second round picks with the lesser of the two not getting drafted at all.

I was not overly impressed with the Harrisons either. They were completely outplayed in the NCAA final by Napier and Boat, some of that was inexperience and some was they are not that great. UK has had a few guys who were very highly rated who have not really panned out, like the Brandon kid who turned out not to be a point guard, Kidd-Gilchrist who is a very average pro player, Doron Lamb who has had some trouble making NBA rosters. The kid I liked was their defensive specialist who was about 6'6" who they put on Kemba Walker and he was lit up like a Christmas tree. I forget his name but I think he nailed down an NBA job somewhere. Kid was very good on ball defender but could not check Kemba, really got roasted in that game (in Maui).

Good call, the kids name was Liggins. I remember talking to some old money Kentucky fans,
driving around to places on the island, after Uconn beat Mich St. the day before the championship
game in Maui.....they were all about Liggins and how he was gonna shut down Kemba with his D
and size. As we all know it turned into blow out city and Liggins had nothin' !

Mavs cut Doron Lamb, he had no shot.

Whats funny is that guys like Lamb are starting to hurt UK. Their kids are not making it as easily as they thought so they are staying causing a log jam and make NO MISTAKE Calamari's platoon system will fail early and often.

I watched him talk about the Platoon and he was already accepting that it probably wont work. This is no by design, Calamari hides behind the "problem" of always having freshman but the truth is that he CANT COACH and doesn't want kids past one year.

If I remember correctly UConn got a much better game from Wichita State in the first round. In the WSU game which I watched at a sports bar in NYC while sipping $13 mixed drinks, UConn just went to Kemba every possession. I told my friend at the 8 minute mark of that game, Kemba is getting the ball and is either going to score or get fouled every time down the Court, that is what happened, and UConn won.

I think Giffey had 14 points against Kentucky. It was that game when I said to myself this team could be really really good. Oriakhi also was a monster in that tournament. He was still at that point being used as a 5. I think Oriakhi's career peaked at that Maui tournament.

Very true about Wichita St......Uconn could've easily been in the losers bracket if they didn't win a close one.
The games out there were morning/ early afternoon because of the 5 hours time difference for east coast TV
on ESPN. I remember it would have sucked having to get up early for a loser bracket game but Kemba
came up big... even though I think he had to sit out most of the1st half with foul trouble.
