Obviously a long way to go, but Brice is making a good case for first-team All-Big Ten. Of course he’ll have to keep it up for several more weeks, and overcome the media darling factor.

He’s gotta keep it rolling through B1G play. Felt he disappeared in too many games last season against better competition.

I hate to play the role of Debbie Downer, but there's no comparison between holiday tournament play and conference play. In conference, teams will be well scouted and players will be more prepared to take away tendencies. Most teams will say let's not let Williams beat us and then have multiple players prepared to do just that. In these tournaments, there isn't that familiarity with an opponent or time to prepare. Coaches might say... don't go for his shot fake, make him go left and keep him left, etc. but in reality just telling a guy something isn't going to translate to doing it in a game.

I like Brice's odds of keeping it rolling in conference. This team is still developing, but there are enough options to keep defensive game plans somewhat honest. Teams will know they don't really have to be concerned about Rollie or Sam from 3, but most other guys can shoot or post up.

Sam had a HUGE 3 late in the game last night. He’s not a great offensive player but he just seems to be in the right place and makes a play when we really need it. Rollie couldn’t throw it in the ocean last night but did some good work in the paint.

He had just turned the ball over right before that. That was a pissed off three point attempt and you could see it on his face. Glad it went in.

As of right now, this team seems to have too many weapons to just double or lock down Williams and expect that to be universally successful. Between Gary, Essegian(sp?), Berke and Morgan you can’t just shut down Williams and expect that to be enough. We’ll probably still struggle to win road games in the B1G, but that’s every team in the B1G outside of a couple teams.
