Dang..From a 10 yr old laptop to a new Macbook Pro with 500 nit brightness, Retina display and True Tone color. I can't imagine how much better the IMPP threads look...

Good purchase. You'll thank yourself every day.

$175 15 inch chrome book and I love it. Faster to open, better battery life.

$175?

[anon1787432961]

It's $190 now. Was $175 prior to the pandemic

32GB of memory? Am I reading that correctly? Most people need more storage than that on a device, unless all you do is read Sixpack.

Not on a chromebook. It's all on the cloud. They are made to be tethered to an internet connection. I bought a couple Acer R11 for my kids and we've had no problems. I'm shocked at how well they work. Your not going to render 3D models in Maya with it, but it's great for basic operations.

OK, 30,000 foot explanation please

Pros/cons of chrome book? Monthly fees? Can you connect to external hard drive?

I thought this was a Mrs. IMPP thread at first.

Yeah, we bought a $250 chrome book at the start of the pandemic for one of our kids since the school hadn't yet sent out laptops to each kid.
I love that chrome book for daily typical home use.

The touch screen is accurate, it turns on immediately, the keyboard is quality(better feeling than a couple $100+ laptops), and it's processor is plenty fast.

The speaker isn't incredible, so it isn't used for family zoom calls. Oh well- that is the only downside.

I have struggled to figure out all the keyboard shortcuts. Like if I want to snip part of a web page or something. I just Google what I want to do and the answer is immediate, but i would never be able to guess that stuff on my own.

No monthly fees other than your internet. You can connect to an external hard drive although I have never done it. So can't tell you the limitations there.

If Rick is married to Ms. IMPP I salute both him and the man who invented Viagra.
