East Forsyth.

Many things could be said, but the Rams lose a good one.

Definitely. Hate to lose brax. But the good news is I like Tyson as qb as well.
East going to have competition at qb. Their jv qb, brax and the mount airy qb

One will probably end up at walkertown. The MA transfer may play jv to get experience at East. He will be sophomore

I wish him the best but it shows how much is needed to make some sense of these unlimited transfers. E Forsyth will be how many schools since middle school?

Just imagine if Berger and crowd get their way and have total open enrollment for all students at any school.

About as many as some current Rams lol.

Who was the kid years back that played for Reidsville, NWG, and Northern the same year?

I don't blame him for leaving under circumstances

Yeah I can’t either, although he will still be in a qb competition. The job woulda definitely been his sr year.
West stokes has a few transfers, I think you guys will be a sleeper next year.

Please no politics. It's enough already with all the political ads.
I definitely agree about the ads. But even after the primary, Berger is leading the charge for statewide open enrollment. If not him, whoever replaces him probably will too.

Forsyth County has had open enrollment forever and I don't see them winning many championships.

With the competition East Forsyth plays it will be tough. They have a good coaching staff and maybe it makes him better. Hopefully he plays at next level

True. But what happens when Grimsley, or Dudley or East Forsyth can take the best of Winston, Greensboro and High Point? Or one Charlotte or Raleigh school can do the same? Throw in a little NIL money and you have a playing field that’s way uphill for the have nots.

The biggest concern I have isn’t even for athletics. It’s the gradual erosion of every disadvantaged school that parents flee from. So, for those schools, they’ll only have the students who can’t get out. We have some of that now.

Grimsley took one of our best lineman from Stokes County this past year. Those schools get who they want. Forsyth County trade players every year. Walkertown had players from West Forsyth Carver and North Forsyth.

So I don’t want to hear nothing else about us and transfers lol.
Page is loading up for grimsley. Also got eastern guilford qb
The narrative around Page was kids were continuously transferring out under Coach Robertson. Now the new staff gets hired, and has a big step forward in year 2, and now kids are transferring in.

How good do you think they will be. I feel like they need to produce something this year

It's hard to say, but the makings are there to have a better year than last year. Upgrade at QB and RB, and mostly all the skill players are returning. The two middle linebackers are both ball hawks. Grimsley will still be a 4+ TD favorite, for obvious reasons. Will be interesting to see if they can finally get over that Dudley hurdle.

They should beat Dudley this season. Unless dudley is able to get some transfers. Dudley always does have talent though

I heard the Page Admin wanted Doug to play the recruiting game and he refused. That shows he is a person with character. Wish we had more like him. I'm afraid those kinds of coaches are a thing of the past.

Gillespie was an old school type coach too. And he mixed great at Page. It's all about how you start and maintain relationships with your players. Robertson was just a bit too abrasive at the start of his tenure. Also, it didn't help that mostly all of his assistants left for other jobs.

Abrasive? Haha.

Someone needs to tell the story Pat Dye once told at a clinic about how the body parts got together to have a football team and got to arguing about who would be the coach. Long and short of it was when the a$$hole said he wanted to be the coach the other parts laughed at him so he shut down. When "things" stopped moving, it didn't take long for all the other parts to come to an agreement to allow him to be the coach. Moral of the story according to coach Dye; "if you want to be a football coach, you have to be an a$$hole." Of course it took coach 30 minutes to tell it because he talked slow and hit every body part. Lol

Now, literally, coach Rob is not an a$$hole but he is ole school. Is he firm? Yes. Is he fair? Absolutely. Was he the wrong fit? Maybe. Good point about his assistants but IMO, he was doing a good job. The decision to replace him had less to do with how he was running the program or, the on the field results. It mainly came down to a difference of opinion between him and his admin on future direction. Finally, without evidence, it's also rumored he was undermined by a couple of assistants that had differences in direction. DR is a class act. He is a good coach and a better man and anyone that knows him will agree.

There was definitely an assistant that resembles that remark. Same thing happened at their next stop and he only made it half a season.

I don't disagree with you. I don't think it was Doug's fault. Page Athletics in general were going through a transitional period. Things have stabilized a good bit now, though. A lot of it has to do with Coach Hagan at AD. He's done an excellent job so far.
