What's our bowl game ceiling if we win one more? If we win two More?

Thanks.

Lot of moving pieces but from a matchup/desirable location perspective probably Guaranteed Rate (Phoenix against Big 12) or Music City (Nashville against SEC).

Nashville would be awesome.
Also playing on December 31st in the Citrus Bowl in Orlando or in the Tampa Bowl on Dec 31st would be even better!!
Hard to envision us getting picked for those even sweeping the last two.

What do you mean ?
8-4 not good enough for those Bowls ?
I don't think so. What we do isn't happening in a vacuum. Most likely Iowa is above us, certainly at 8-4. Wisconsin has two winnable games to get to 7-5 and blew us out. We don't know how the PAC bowls will shake out. We need Indiana to stay a playoff team. Lot of variables.

Good chance Nebraska does not make a Bowl/. Wisconsin beats them next week and they become Bowl eligible. Let’s see how it plays out.

PAC tie ins don’t really matter unless those four don’t make one.

And if 8-4 happens, then you have to factor who went where the most recent. That matters in the B1G.

There is a possibility where that could work out for us. But I haven’t done the research yet.

Ceiling IMO is the old Outback in Tampa.

Charlotte though with the date and distance might get the most of us there.

I don't understand what your first paragraph means. I'd bet a good amount that the Alamo bowl - who is top of the food chain re PAC bowls - will take a 6-6 USC, assuming they beat UCLA and lose to ND.

Meaning they don’t get to 6 wins.

Haven’t been paying attention to the new additions so I really don’t know their records.

Got it. I think we benefit either way. If the new additions don't get to 6 they're out obviously. If they do get to 6, if I'm understanding this correctly, the traditional PAC bowl tie-ins can select them, and given they're big brands and they only have a limited window to pick them I figure a USC or Wash would be very attractive.

Just looked up the Charlotte bowl (my wife is from Virginia and a big VT family).
We’re usually down there after Xmas so it’s always been the best option for us as a Rutgers Bowl game.

Friday January 3rd doesn’t seem like a great date and time though for a 9hr drive.
School is back in session and most people working again.
Most would have to take off Thursday and Friday likely.

When did it get moved from Bowl Week?

Yep. If they are available, they will get picked.

I doubt we get a chance to sneak into Vegas, Alamo or the Holiday Bowl if those names are still on the table.

At 8-4 (5-4) Rutgers would have a very good chance to be in Orlando (Citrus)
Iowa cannot repeat, & Rutgers would have tiebreakers over Illinois & Minnesota. (Selection based on standing for this bowl, & not by selection committee, apparently)

You can work/go to school Thursday. Game isn't until 6:30PM on Friday. Spend the entire weekend in Charlotte? LOTS of alumni from Atlanta to DC and can drive there in 7-8 hours (yeah, yeah, it'll tell you 9.5 if you look at your maps, I know...). We'd travel pretty well I'd guess.

Anyway:

8-4 Tampa, Orlando, Charlotte, Nashville all in play
7-5 Tampa/Orlando OUT; throw Phoenix into the mix
6-6 Charlotte/Nashville OUT throw Detroit into the mix

This. Vegas or Orlando or Tampa would be the most desirable. Likely Nashville or Charlotte.Phoenix maybe.
That jerk off Jerry Palm of CBS Sports has playing in the Boca Raton Bowl vs. UCONN . Idiot
lol....you complain about prices, all the time, and you wanna go to Vegas? During the holidays?
