Going to be a wet weekend, so it looks like they will start early today with a doubleheader (2pm) and if they are fortunate enough to get the games in, game 3 will be Saturday also at 2pm.
I was thinking the same thing myself. It might take a miracle to get 2 in. This series could take every inch of the next 3 days to get in.They might get one in today - that would be great. Two would be a miracle. Saturday doesn’t look doable (at the moment).
Patrick not as effective with that slider in the conditions today I think but man he's a gamer.3d inning, finally. Forbes has lost some control. Seems like he spirals quickly. He just needs to relax and not worry about making a mistake or giving up a run. He has given up 3 in this inning (just had a wild pitch) and 2 runners on-base.
Moth was saying the 23 minute weather delay plus the long, high scoring inning by the Cards got Forbes out of rhythm.3d inning, finally. Forbes has lost some control. Seems like he spirals quickly. He’s like the rest of us, tired of the pen being a weakness. For those not listening to Moth.....He went off on the 4 pitch walks to the bottom of BCs lineup. Pitches he described as not "even being competitive". Also went crazy [again] on the pen arms not finding the zone the entire game.
Its now 9 to 4 in the 3rd because the Cards pitching is bad, very bad.Wow! Game 2 and we’re on our 12th batter in the bottom of the first inning! Oops - I jinxed Rose, so we’re only up 8-0!.![]()

Yeah, we all know that the pitching out of the pen is bad and you've nailed it. It looks like Mac and Williams are moving on in another direction away from a lot of the vets. This is what we were talking about, the offense carrying the team while these coaches can figure out who's gonna be a big part of the bullpen in the second half of the season...and they are. That first game…I mean, it just comes down to inconsistency with the pen. Gotta find those guys they can rely on.
I think Hoyt may be done for the season. Lessman has disappeared. Biven MIA.
Where'd he pitch? Trinity?Freshman Schweitzer on in relief of the freshman Eberle. 13-4 Cards -the youth movement continues!
