Bob Junko TU Pitt retires

Attached is a nice article from the Pittsburgh Tribune Review about former TU player and Assistant Coach, Bob Junko. Junko, 75, recently retired after 30 years on the Pitt Panthers staff.

My undergraduate degree is from Pitt (BA 1970) and my law degree is from TU (JD 1972). I like the fact that there are connections like this between the two schools and areas. I note that Pitt and TU have never played each other in any sport. I would be conflicted if it ever happened.

Thanks for sharing the article about Bob Junko. I remember him well when he was playing at TU.

I really liked Coach Junko. He was TU's Defensive Coordinator when I was in school. Always enthusiastic, although most of the linebackers would have said "actin' like a crazy man." He was a helluva a linebacker in his TU playing days as well.

I didn't realize he was still coaching. 54 years in coaching. That's an accomplishment.
