I can see that. I do like the Ingram comparison too though. The kid is just wired to score from anywhere.People keep saying Brandon Ingram, but he’s a little shorter.
Of recent guys, I would say he’s got a lot of Jarrett Culver in his game.
Boston is 6'8" now. We are so Long you add in 6'8" Fket her and yes he is also 6'8" now unless the P.A. announcers just make up heights now. Both have been introduced as 6'8" in games this past season. We are going to be a long team and a defensive nightmare for the nation! They both 6’7
It’s kinda hard to rank because there’s 2 guys in the top 5, BUT no more in the top 25, BUT 4 more in the top 50. So it’s deep but kinda top heavy. Most of Cal’s classes lately have had mostly guys ranked 10-25. And Cal has never gotten a couple scoring wings like this so it’ll be interesting how he uses them.Where does this rank among Cal's recruiting classes?
I like this comparison.
NBA TV’s Beau Estes was a fan of Boston’s game from having watched him earlier in his high school down South before I started covering him at Sierra Canyon.
“BJ has that Scottie Pippen like quality where he appears to not be trying and yet he’s everywhere on the court. While he was clearly the most talented player on a floor full of D1 prospects, he was always a willing passer and an engaged defender,” Estes said. “There were moments though, when necessary, that BJ took control of the game in a way that made you wonder how high the ceiling on him could be. The ball handling is there. The passing is there. The athleticism is there and the frame is there. It’s probably quicker to say there’s not much that’s not there for BJ Boston. He has a really bright future in the game of basketball.”
As far as recent Kentucky players go I'd say James Young with a better motor and nasty handle.
Most excited I have been about a recruit in many years here. Probably going back to AD.
I really don’t see the Prince comparison that much. Boston is much quicker and a better shooter but nowhere near as long. Thus I doubt he’ll be as good a defender as Tayshaun.
I’d say since Fox and Monk for me. Going back Randle before them.
I went back and looked. Tayshaun was a 33% long range shooter in his Kentucky career. Which is really pretty average, though it’s especially decent for a guy 6’9”. (Mind you he could get in a hot streak like that game against UNC, what a classic) But I think Boston is much more wired to score than Tayshaun, especially at the same age. I could definitely see him being a 20 point per game guy in the NBA.Better shooter than Tayshaun!? That would be sweet.

For me I believe he can impact the game to that level. The guy can be an elite defender....if Cal can get that out of him it is going to be lights. His handles, vision and explosion are extraordinary.
