In NYC next weekend. Alex is registered at 79 kg. Gable Steveson is entered at 125 kg. Wonder if Daton will try his hand at the senior level here or focus on making the Junior & U23 world teams.

Also saw Eddie Klimara registered at 57 kg.

Alex is in the finals against Khadjiev (FRA), who took 9th at 74 kg at last year's Worlds. Zack is in Alex's corner, which I guess makes sense. Anyone know if Derek coaches the youth wrestlers or if maybe he has more of an organizational / administrative role?

No Daton, but some former Pokes competing. Schafer is back to freestyle again, plus Klimara, Jon Morrison and Austin Miller. Morrison beat Seth Gross and is in the finals against Tyler Graff at 61 kg.

And no Gable Steveson either.

Congrats to Jon Morrison who beat Seth Gross in the semis 6-4 on a last two seconds head pinch. He was behind 4-4 when he turned him. He then dec. Tyler Graff 6-5 on a last second takedown and he qualified for the World team trials. Alex won over the Russian in the finals 14-2 and looked outstanding. Austin Schafer finished third at 97kg with a 6-2 win over Blaize Cabell. Austin Schafer was 4th at 61kg.
