Brevard beat Pisgah but Pisgah only beat Enka by 7 so Brevard wasn’t as tough as some thought. Pisgah must be down also. No surprise in Robbinsville beating Brevard
I reckon Enka always gives Pisgah a tough game. At least that’s what they were saying on the 3a boards. Although I agree that Pisgah is down, it may be hard to judge how much through the first 2 weeks.

Murphy for me. I've never been so happy to miss a pick on Pick'em. After the Franklin game, my outlook was dim. Credit to the coaches and players for their adjustments this week. Conference is going to be tough this year, no freebees. Hats off to the other teams for their showings this week.
I picked Murphy earlier in the week then went back and changed it once I seen that Commerce had beat a #1 SC team. If any SMC team overlooks Murphy they will have a rude awakening.

Murphy looked like a different team last night, the players seemed much more focused and engaged and the performance was much better overall against a Commerce team that was easily more talented than the Franklin team they got handled by last week at home.

Hats off to the coaching staff and players. The personnel adjustments on the o-line were really big for Murphy and the effort was just better too. I will say wide receiver remains a real problem area, they've got to get more production out of that spot one way or another.

Not SMC related but AC Reynolds smacked Shelby last night. That really surprised me.
I agree that one surprised me too. Looking outside of the SMC and at all classes another one that surprised me was West Henderson beating Hendersonville 34 -20 , Simmons had Hendersonville winning by 24.

Game I took note on though was Smoky Mountain. I was thinking they were quite a bit more than one point better than Swain. I'm starting to think West Henderson is this year's M7 conference champs and not Smoky. But that's not for this thread.

I'd bet smoky is better than one point better when healthy. Didn't someone say Smoky's star running back didn't play last night? Sometimes one player can make all the difference between a blowout and a close game.
Not to step on anyones toes but if the coaching had been proficient the game would’ve been 20-7 Swain, maybe more. Imo Swain really should have shut Smoky out, but that’s just what I see with this team from a talent standpoint. Time will tell if this regime can capitalize on this teams talent.

Swain run Defense is pretty solid so, I don't think it would have. He did have 30 carries against Cherokee for 177 yards but I think Swain would have held him to 100 or less on 30 carries. Smokey #5 is their best player on offense and Defense. He can take it to the house anytime and he will be the fastest kid Swain will see all season.
