Looks like its OU or bust once again. So does a 1 loss OU get in if there are 3 or 4 one loss teams for those final 2 spots? 1 SEC and 1 Big Ten is in under any realistic circumstance. If Georgia and Bama play in SEC Title Game undeafeated then they both make it and only one spot is open. If Clemson runs the table they deserve to defend their title just like FSU did. If ND runs the table they’re next. Then it would probably be OU ahead of a one loss Washington and a one loss Miami or one loss VaTech(if they beat Clemson in Title Game). A lot can happen but TCUs loss was a blow.

Haven't given it enough thought about your initial question but I don't agree at all on Clemson. You don't deserve anything from winning the title the year before. Teams change each year.

I might have worded that wrong. I said they deserve to defend their title. Not because they were Champs last year. But because they would have won the ACC and lost their QB in their lone lost. I agree with you that last year shouldn’t matter Vernon but it does appear FSU and Ohio State were given past slack by Committee when they were included second time after Title. You think a defending National Champ, ACC Champ one loss Clemson gets passed over? I believe they deserve to defend their title if they run the table. I think we’ll know Tuesday night. I think you’ll see Three Big Ten teams and two SEC teams in top 6. We’ll know what they think of The ACC and the Big12 and ND from their 6-10 rankings.

Oklahoma's one loss probably does not hurt them nearly as much in the committee's eyes as the terrible weak nature of the Big-12 not just this year but over the last two as well.

I am not so sure OU beats OSU next week. OU's defense is not real good

Ohio State did not receive an invitation to the Playoffs the season following its National Championship in 2014-15.

I’m talking about the respect the committee gave after whackin Wisky and going in over PSU. Just that respect OSU deserves. History was off. Apologies.

There’s no doubt the national perspective is that the Big12 and PAC12 are the weaker conferences. Homers on here get emotional but the playoff poll on Tuesday will establish which conferences get respect and which conferences need help.

If Oklahoma wins out they will get in NO question.

That will mean wins over:
OK ST (Possibly twice) or ISU
TCU
TEXAS
WV
and Ohio State

How can anyone say the B12 is weak this year? The Big10 has several teams that a waay overrated where they are in the rankings...that is the case EVERY year. There are a whole bunch of gimmes in that league. There are not in the B12. If Oklahoma wins out I don't see how they get left out of the playoffs. If they do the system is a total joke.

Really? So if Clemson and ND have same record with same results you like the Sooners. I guess we’ll see what committee is thinking Tuesday night.

Then you have failed to fully understand the system. The Big-12 has been weak for three years. While it is a bit of the tin-foil hat category, there are those that suspect the Big-12 is being punished for not playing by the same rules as the other conferences, i.e., expanding to 12. There are 4 slots in the main stage and 5 conferences plus Notre Dame if they can be worked in at all. Notre Dame is very likely to only have one more game to challenge them in Miami. They have a very good chance of winning out and finishing 11-1, if they do, they are in. That leaves 3 slots and that will mean even a 1 loss Oklahoma is out of luck. Ohio State, Alabama, Wisconsin, Georgia, at least 2 of those are going to be in. That is 3 of the four slots. Oklahoma has to compete with a lot of 1 loss teams and with a weak Big-12 resume, it will not help them.
