I went to bed last night thinking the Huskers had a decent Big Ten win. Came on this board this morning and read a couple threads and thought for sure I had confused myself because it appeared here we lost! I always thought the game was 4 quarters long and the whole game counted but this board has shown me I must be wrong!

A lot of folks should have stayed off the boards based on what I've seen.
But you've made yourself a target now Cruel.
Next time during a game and you're commenting when the Huskers lose, people are gonna say,
"That sonofabi*ch Cruel is on the board again posting during the game."

Weird game, wind was the decisive factor, quarters 1&4 were night and day from 2&3. The Chiles kid can create, but I thought the run defense was pretty solid. This is the kind of game that in past years nobody would’ve stepped up. Nebraska had several kids stop up.
This isn't true...even Frost teams beat bad MSU in the wind. Rhule has beaten Rutgers, and Northwestern with sloppy games. MSU is terrible, and they played terrible. Rhules best big 10 win is Wisky from their worst season in decades. He can beat the bottom of the big 10 at home, that is what happened on Saturday, nothing is new or improved.

Actually, everything I said is true. The wind was a decisive factor. The Chiles kid is 63% passing on the season but 20 pts lower yesterday. The Chiles kid did create with his legs, but was held mostly in check. And several players did step up when the game was on the line. The blather about who is crappy is something that people can differ about. But at the end of the day, a Frost coached team would’ve figured out a way to lose this game.
Nothing has improved? I saw inspired defensive line play and rock solid play in the defensive backfield. Special teams were on point except for a couple of punts into a 30 mph wind. EJ is on pace for a thousand yds rushing.
I wonder if some of you have just decided that Rhule is just not gonna be the guy and it would be better off if the team lost so we could run him off.

Any B1G win is huge. This conference has beat up Nebraska nine out of the last 10 years. Three more conference wins and that will be an improvement over Matt’s current success at the university. I think he has a chance to do it.

I stayed off the boards yesterday. I looked once and said HELL NO
It's not all boards. This particular board is the dredge of husker fans. The personal bickering that takes place, the whiners and such. This is that board. I can't understand how a person could put so much time into responding to people who have such shite opinions, and then claim they dont care. Other than at this moment I have too much going on in my life to participate. I do sometimes on other boards. Almost never here. I hope I never have so little going on that I become a participating member here.

I think we would of lost this game last year. special teams a world of difference. defense in totality of play much better. offense a grade better with much to work on yet better. coaching not making bonehead decisions(rhule?). razor thin possibles ahead. play for points early and take chances late and see where the ball bounces. gbr

And yet, here you are with your 110th post in 3+ years.

"Whiners and such." Have you read your entire post here? It's the epitome of whining.

I admit I was Debby Downer there in the second and third quarter. I even questioned the play call on Hunter's long TD. I told my son that that's going nowhere and boom he's gone.

But the fact remains the OL needs a ton of work. They're just not good.

But like everyone is saying, a wins a win and we probably lose this kind of game in past years.

The right position coach, like Eckler or the right coordinator like Dana can make a huge difference. Butler fixed some things on the off week and I hope the defense can stay on track. One can't help but wonder what a different O line coach, the right guy, could do to improve that unit. If we were able to run and pass block better, who knows how good this team could be.

Third quarter when MSU went up, it was really feeling like a loss. Then NU went up by 10 and then added a cushion td after that. Raiola got frustrated with the wind. He could throw in it, but the rhythm was off. Holgerson likes to be all gas, but we were running the ball well, so I would have leaned more on the run heading into the wind.

I am a sumabltch but I'm far from the worst; not even close to the top 30 during a loss.

We usually lose this game. Somehow the kids sacked up and found a way to win( which they are still learning to do) . Yet our "most knowledgeable " fan base is finding reasons to ***** because they have to be right about all of the crying in the 2nd and 3rd quarters. So hell no they don't get credit for winning. Let's just kill the OL and our best player because they suck

You hit the nail on the head. Problem is some of these dudes have already chosen their hill to die on. So now they have to stand on it. So it doesn't matter how they win it'll be some kinda excuse why. The other team was ******, the refs helped us, we got lucky blah blah blah. Anything to be "right ".

You will know these people because they will never have anything positive to say after a win...regardless there will be a "but"...

I am encouraged by this game because we found a way to win when we were down in the second half and the opponent had all the momentum. And didn’t just win, but won going away. A late garbage touchdown by MSU was irrelevant. I don’t think we ever saw that once with Frost or Riley. Under those regimes, we developed a character for not knowing how to win under duress. Perhaps yesterday’s game was a step in the right direction of overcoming that.
