You need good/very good OL and DL to compete for a title.

Nebraska's OL is not even close. It may take another couple years to get there, possibly longer because you also need to develop quality depth. There are no shortcuts; weaknesses up front will eventually be exposed in this league.

Huskers have some highly regarded OL recruits in the pipeline. Patience.

How can you think about getting rid of coach frost in his second year? Where would Iowa be if Coach Ferentz was fired after his second year?

True about being nuts to fire Frost. He just needs to adjust his recruiting priority a little bit (OL and DL).

Your right about not getting rid of Frost. I think most Nebraska fans got a little carried away originally with the hire but it was a good one. Just don't expect he's going to turn Nebraska into a power.

We’ve had great OL recruiting. The problem is people don’t realize OL is a tough position for kids to make an impact on in one year. OL is a multi year build. Sorry if that doesn’t fit your timeline.

Pretty spot on, A good O-line can make most any O.C. Look competent, A poor O-line will make most O.C.’s look inept.
Your coach knew your team had to get better in the trenches, It’s just not a quick fix. Patience is indeed a virtue.

I agree with that ... it takes some time, Frost is in year 2. Some folks need to light'n up. The hype machine on Nebraska was in over drive (not just in Nebraska).

Are we sure those same OL saviors will still make it next year if this paper tiger keeps blowing up?

How long have we been waiting for an OL to show up is the question. My question is why do we still continue to have these pre-snap and senseless penalties year after F’in year. Makes me puke in my mouth each year and then by game 4 I say WTF and accept like the coaches and team does. Lack of discipline I say....and something I was certain that frost would extinguish bros!

Lol if we fired Frost now forget about any new facility improvements til about 2030. We owe him $30 million and his assistants probably another $15 million. Frost is here for a minimum 3 more years no matter how he does.

Nobody other than drunken idiots is saying anything about firing Frost.

He wanted a turned over roster well now he's got it. His guys on offense are so new they can't execute.

I don’t see many calling for Frost to be fired. That is absurd! He is clearly the only one who is right to lead the program. If he can’t succeed then nobody can. But it is becoming painfully clear Nebraska will never be an Elite program. We can’t even win the games we’re supposed to win. At best they’ll have a great year every now and then but will be mostly a 6-8 win team most years. I’ve been a fan for over 30 years but am being very objective here.

Microwave mindset people need to quit. Football and sports building a program needs time to get and maintain. It isn’t a one year and easy to repeat. It’s a crock pot mentality that things need to be done daily and take time.

Frost will get it done. The coaches with him may not all make it but their core is in place to get Nebraska to the highest levels the program can get to. I think that is a consistently top 10 level team. It will be year 3 or 4 ur it will happen.

This year I think I was thinking 9-3 with division title. Need to clean up and Minimize the three and out drives on offense. This offense right now is still to feast or famine. There has to be some more positive yardage consistency even on the drives around in a punt.

winning begins by building the OL and DL, getting the highly ranked skill players are good but can't get the job done with no OL to do the dirty work.

Frost should take a page out KF's book about OL and DL recruits, that's go after the HWT Wrestlers.

Iowa starting OL looked like this
LT Wirfs HWT Champion
RT Levi Paulson HWT Champion
LG L Paulson runner up HWT
RG Shott runner up HWT
C Linderbaum 3rd place HWT

Kirk loves him Wrestlers on the OL. they are taught all about leverage and have the foot work needed to play the OL position.

We took 6 olinman last recruiting cycle, but it takes a while for them to develop

That is a lot of OL in one class. Nebraska, like Iowa when Kirk Ferentz was hired at Iowa, needs to improve the play on both sides of the line of scrimmage.

Tough loss.

60 minutes of football.

Attrition is another matter every coach must watch.

Now, the transfer portal has arrived.

Nebraska at 1-1. Frankly, about where I expected it. Road trip to CU isn't a cake walk.

Coaching staff and players need to win the mental, physical and other aspects of the game.

NIU at Nebraska

The Huskers at home. Talent favors Huskers.

NIU wants another signature win. They got one in 2017.

New season.
