The motorcycle driver who was with the shooter was beaten badly by a crowd at the bar and then taken to the hospital. Sounds pretty wild over there.

DR isn't safe anymore period... Even if you are at an all inclusive resort and don't leave the resort... It's a beautiful view in Punta Cana but the issues there are not worth it..
Now you tell me. I'm headed there in Aug with the wife. Lol. Two people from my work just got back from there. They loved it.

Except that the motorcycle driver may not have had anything to do with the shooting. He told police that he doesn’t know the shooter and just gave him a ride to the nightclub for money. That’s the problem with mob justice. A mob doesn’t take the time to get all the facts straight before dispensing its “justice.”

If it is anything like Puerto Rico, which it most likely is.. then I would think more than twice about going. I spent a year there and now understand what some mean by "hell hole". I didn't encounter any trouble, but I didn't go out after dark either. Scour the internet for some pictures to share and save yourself the hassle.

Banging a drug lords wife is never a good thing
is that factual? I suspected it had more to do with Ortiz's unpaid MJ bills. There was more to the Twins letting him walk back in the day than the size of his contract. It wouldn't surprise me one bit to hear some day that he's been busted for being involved in a drug ring.

Amen...

1. I don't know why people would want to go to those places when you can go to the Florida Keys, Hawaii, South Carolina, Gulf Shores of Bama...Why bother leaving the country.

2. How have those places NOT figured it out yet and become "better", I went to the DR before and the resorts are awesome but everything outside the resorts looks 3rd world. I have been to PR and it was the same exact thing.

It looks 3rd world because it is 3rd world. Same as Mexico and Jamaica. 30 percent live below the poverty line. Most Americans don't realize how good they have it here in the US. I've been to both and never had any problems. The resorts are night and day. Beautiful 5 star resorts in the middle of a poor country is very eye opening.

Amen to that!

It shocked me to see the amazing resorts filled with basically everything a person could want...only to be surrounded by crap.

You almost feel guilty as the rich American down there. I'm not rich at all but you feel rich in those places and makes you appreciate what you have even more. On the flip side we as Americans are going down there pumping millions into their economy and they are getting paid a fair wage and tips working in a beautiful resort. Better than the alternative of picking fruit or some other crappy low paying job. Then I feel less guilty.Winking
