Our presence in that poll is about as much in question as is wvu's.

And this was supposed to be the year it was all supposed to come together. How sad.

But you only have one loss to teams ranked 100+. Shouldn't you be ranked?

What's funny about this thread is that, under the perfect set of circumstances, Marshall can still get in this poll. Their is absolutely no scenario in which wvu can make it in.

The perfect scenario? What is that? All of the sudden Marshall becomes a real college in a real conference playing real competition and really winning? That might sound perfect but that is a pipedream.

Well Dave, we were ranked in that poll last year. That's something you seem to have forgotten.

It's really quite simple, if we can win out we will be 12-1 when the final poll comes out. The other G5 teams already in the poll, Memphis, Houston, Temple (and Navy, who I am sure is just outside the top 25) all still have to play each other. Toledo, who is also currently in, is in a tight game with NIU and still has to play Bowling Green, probably twice. Depending on how those games play out we could easily be one of the two or three G5 ranked teams at the end of the season.

So if you win enough games over nobodies and say a few hail mary's you might get some sympathy votes and get ranked. You are marshall. Congrats.

Wrong on both counts.

There is NO WAY a team with an SOS ranked 150+, AND a loss to a team ranked 100+, AND needed OT to squeak by #140+ is going to get ranked. As if you even have a chance of winning out in the first place.

We will be ranked if we win out, particularly if we do so decisively.

Your "logic" is incredibly flawed. You just assume that if the other G5's fall out that a G5 will have to enter? There are a lot of P5 teams out there playing schedules better than 150+ that didn't lose to a team ranked 100+.
