Ref must be a Vandy grad. A series of horrible calls capped with that hot garbage cherry.

The Ado call was the worst of them. Four straight against us that could’ve been easily swallowed whistles and no one would’ve blinked. Still got the lead though. Finish them.

That’s like 6 straight calls that have been toss ups that have gone against us. This is unreal.

It is quite obvious that Ado is a tall guy on a basketball team not a basketball “player”.

Ado is a great defensive player, good rebounder, good screener and a horrible scorer of the basketball. He’s not a TFN.

Nice play drawn up from Howland on the inbound. Split Molinar and Stewart. Then you get Johnson, your best free throw shooter, coming down the lane for an easy inbound.

Helluave play by Mathews to immediately defend Pippen on that inbounds. I wonder if that was instincts or coaching.

Nice to close it out, but that was heart stopping.

Great job overcoming 15 3’s and horrendous one sided officiating down the stretch.

Always tough to win in that high school gym.

Good win. When Jalen Johnson missed that first free throw I was certain we were about to blow it

Great win. I feel like the officiating was great until the last 10 minutes, then it turned into some of the worst I've seen. Despite some inconsistencies on free throws, it was a good game and a great win, especially with how well Vandy shot 3s.

Which were you when you played D1 basketball?

Smart *** My parents and I paid every penny for my college education. I didn’t get a “free” ride because I was 6’11” tall and could block a few shots and grab a few rebounds but couldn’t throw it in the ocean from standing on the beach!

Our free throw shooting is just going to be a liability all year. We are just going to have to hope we can overcome it on most occasions. Close games will always be a challenge for us to close out though. There is really nobody on this team that is truly dependable at the FT line.

Any win in that building is a good one. Other than some late free throw issues we played well and they still made us sweat it big time.

A&M in the midweek needs to be another W, we are better than them.

Since you weren’t tall enough for basketball scholarship were you not smart enough for an academic one? Did you hold that vitriol for everyone else that did?

No smart *** #2. In fact, I hold those who got academic scholarship in high regard. I also hold Ado, the MSU graduate in high regards for THAT achievement. But in 4 years, he has not improved one bit offensively, yet continues to play more than 30 minutes a game. My issue is that he is 6’11” and leaves every single shot from 6 feet “short!” How does that happen, game after game after game?

He should play 15-18 minutes a game. We may miss on a couple to 3 block shots but we have other guys that can take up the rebounding slack. In the first half, Vandy had 9 offensive rebounds, and got zero second chance points from them. That was a big stat in this game.

Better to say this after a win but that was some terrible officiating at the end of the game. It was total incompetence.

Where does the SEC get these officials?

Ado is a solid cbb player. He's not in the starting lineup for offense. Thought that was obvious by now and he has improved offensively in 4 years it's just not needed as an option very often. His offense is actually at its best when he isn't a focus. I'd welcome Ado back for a 5th season no doubt. Same with old man Jalen.

Bruiser with another hot take on basketball.

Ado has started every game he has played except 1, has been a rock of consistency for 4 seasons, yet needs his minutes cut.
Davis has been out the last 2 games, so who exactly is going to take the extra 20 minutes of Ado's today...Post?

If you really want to blow steam out your ears, go look at Ado's states as a freshman. Compared to this season he scored more ppg, had a higher fg%, blocked the same, rebounded the same, and fouled less.

Hmm...maybe he is just a consistent player that is reliable and can plan around?
