Big AAC Series Showdown

Big baseball weekend as the #10 Cards face #7 Houston in a AAC showdown. Both teams are currently tied for 3rd place behind UCF and USF.

Here is the weekend matchup, pitching wise;

Friday, 11th

Funkhouser RHP (6-1, 2.77 era) vs Garza RHP (6-2, 1.83 era)

Saturday, 12th

Ruxer RHP (5-1, 2.72 era) vs Lemoine RHP (5-1, 1.18 era)

Sunday, 13th

Kidston RHP (2-0, 2.93 era) vs West LHP (2-1, 2.72 era)

Looks like an even matchup on paper, although their ERA's are lower for all 3 starters.

Need to take 2 if possible! Go Cards!!!!

Wow what a great comment. Thanks for your thought provoking contribution to our baseball board. You must be a loser UKay fan obsessed with everything Louisville because if you were a Houston fan surely you could at least make more than 2 word sentences. Not to mention that a Houston fan would talk about his team and the series.

Personally it looks like a tall task for the Cards on the road against Houston's starting pitching. Once again it's going to come down to how well our starters play and getting the young guys' bats going early IMO.

Be awesome to win 2 of 3 and then beat UKay on Tuesday. GO CARDS!!!

Cards down early 2-0 going into the 5th with 2 outs. Singles by Chitty and Taylor followed by a throwing error that allowed Whiting to reach and Chitty to score. Base hit by Sturgeon leads to 2 runs. Cards take a 3-2 lead!!!!

Cards add a run in the 7th on another rbi single by Sturgeon. 3 rbi night. Cards lead 4-2 in the 8th. Almost time for Burdi!
